Yeah, I'm gonna get flamed for this. I know already.

But we've all watched at least one classic movie, right? Discuss any movies from before 1965 here.

---

I'll list some of my personal favorites;

12 Angry Men (1957)
A young man is accused of killing his father, and most of the jusy agrees that he's guilty. However, one member is determined to prove his innocence.

Bunny Lake is Missing (1965)
On her first day of school, 4-year-old Felicia "Bunny" Lake is kidnapped from under the caretakers' noses, and her mother and uncle are determined to find her. One important question needs to be answered first, though; Does she even exist?

My Man Godfrey (1936)
During a scavenger hunt, scatterbrained upper-classwoman Irene Bullock finds Godfrey Smith living in a dump on a search for a "forgotten man" (Hobo, in modern terms). She offers him work as a butler, and he gladly accepts. However, the Bullock family has a bit more in store for him than he expected.

No... No, that's not what I'm saying at all! I was going to start a topic for 1980-Early 2000's movies anyway. If you'd just waited a little longer...

s***.

A movie is a movie.

You are basically creating topics based on your biased opinions that newer movies aren't as good as older movies.

Lemme tell you something, there were a lot of movies made in this "golden age" and not every movie was a 4 star amazing casablanca experience.
Get your biased a** out.

You're still incorrect.

The "Golden Age" of Film/Hollywood was in the 30s to 40s where the movie industry entered a huge boom after the somewhat meager success of the 20s.
The 20s was a time where movies just began and really didn't stand much of a chance against Vaudeville and Theater, and therefore the movie industry was small.
Vaudeville's appeal weaned in the late 30s-early 40s, as movies began to become a huge success, thus creating a boom in the movie industry and Hollywood as a whole.

THAT is why it is called the Golden Age of Film.

Then I'll rearrange the topics a bit; This one will be from 1965 and beyond, the years typically defined as "Classics", while the other thread will be 1966-2005, or "Modern Classics". I'll also rename the threads as such.

Why not just have one f*** topic about movies you like?

It doesn't need 20 sections outlining every f*** decade, this isn't a f*** book.
Jesus f*** you're making this more complex than it needs to be.
