Exactly what the Title says. what happen is for some reason, IE7 opens and goes to a site I never heard of. I'm afraid it may give me a virus! Some say it's impossible if you have Visita(Which I have), but my Friend got a computer with no traces of IE what so ever! So, anybody know?

You can't exactly uninstall it. Some programs (legitimate ones mind) may need it. However, you can set Firefox or Opera or whatever to your default web browser.

I did(FireFox). IE still pops up! Maybe if I replace it with IE8 then uninstall...
Will that work?

IE is a part of vista, just like wordpad and disc defragmentater, and stuff like that. You can try to remove it forcibly, or you could stop being an idiot and giving yourself viruses. Because IE starting itself up and opening a site that isn't windows.com = virus, simple as that.

A friend of mine just found the files that make up IE and wiped them all.
I doubt that's safe though.

....Did you consider changing your home page?
I wouldn't get rid of the program all together iiwy, Vista probably groups it with some other s*** that needs IE on the computer to work properly.

Alright sunshine, let's go over this.

You're saying that IE opens all by itself, and then goes to a site you don't know?

Stop clicking popups.

He's right. You've got a virus.
Probably Adware.

So I was right? Btw, Safari and Firefox take IE to a camera and cut off it's life source.

No, you weren't right, it's just his virus-guard isn't picking up the viruses.

If you have Adware or Malware or anything like that, I suggest getting Superantispyware and scanning you computer with that. Then get Malware Byte's (you can wiki both programs) and scan your comp with that too. Both these programs are freeware and do a great job too.
