Alright MG clear this up to me because I'm legitimately confused.

So I've been hearing the word "scared" being thrown around quite a bit by the LGBTQ community and I'm not following. From what I understand Pence in 2000 claimed he supported conversion therapy. I did some research (which is harder than it should be if anyone has a relatively unbiased news source do tell) and I do believe that, yes, this man actually believes in this silly s***. My question is why would the LGBTQ community feel unsafe? I doubt Trump would ever implement it, but even if he did what's the problem? Why should you fear for your life? Are they overreacting or is there actual harassment I haven't heard about. I'm not trying to bash on anyone's lifestyle do what you want but this is seriously bothering me. I see people protesting out of "fear" trashing cities and causing general distress then playing the victim it's ridiculous.

It's nothing new or surprising, really. What, with all the self-victimizing minority business being thrown around these days, I mean, yeah, there are the occasions, but I do whole heartedly agree with you. It'll run its course, hopefully. People will find something new to worry about.

Hell, it might sound better clarified by someone who can identify with these people, I personally am not dwelling too hard on it.

I'd like to ask some of my friends a lot of them sympathize with LGBTQ quite a bit but it's honestly hard to talk to some of them without sounding offensive

a conversion therapy mandate in 2017 onward would be such a massively unpopular legislation even in bible belt states that the ensuing backlash from groups all over the political spectrum would prevent it from seeing fruition. it's pseudoscientific and a major human rights violation. literally no one but the most insane fundies who barely exist except as facebook infographic strawmen would support it.

remember how hard the bathroom bill was dropped in NC earlier this year? and that involved the most contested section of the LGBT community

my biggest fear as an LGBT person is that dozens of omar mateen 2.0s are brewing and will only grow more radicalized as tensions boil

Hopefully this doesn't turn into LGBT on MG 2.0.
