I'm fine with it because it encourages you to use whatever you can, but giving the Master Sword batteries is just stupid IMO. I mean, why bother going through the trouble of getting the Master Sword if even that has limitations on how you can use it?

because it would entirely eliminate that whole game mechanic?

the master sword needs that mechanic even more than the regular weapons do lol. games aren't fun if they suddenly stop being challenging because your character is too strong

I suppose so, but if the Master Sword is just another "breakable" sword, then why bother using it at all? Why not just use all the other weapons which aren't really all that weaker? Heck, some weapons are even stronger than the Master Sword damage wise, so it really makes the MS not very special compared to other weapons.

The Master Sword, having its famous reputation as the "sword of evil's bane", should be the end all be all weapon for Link, a huge reward for a great trial that finally gives you an awesome weapon you can freely use through the rest of the game. Instead, it's just a strong sword, and not even the strongest unless you're fighting certain targets. Lame.

okay sure let's make the whole game about the sword and make the spirit of the sword a character and have her be annoying as f*** and

Eh to each their own. I would have liked a secret weapon that nullifies the annoying durability mechanic like some other games that have it, but I guess Link not having the Master Sword as his ultimate weapon is a fresh take.

Master Sword aside, another weapon with infinite durability I'd like would be Fists that did 1 damage. Imagine taking out Gold Lynels with your bare hands.

I would be open to the idea of extending a weapon's durability but making the cost so high that it's only worth it in extremely niche situations or if you're a mouthbreather

Something similar to the shield in Bloodborne that's only there to make you understand you're playing the game wrong

I would be open to just laughing at people who couldn't get over themselves and enjoy one of the best games of the last decade because they were too busy crying about their swords breaking which led to them never engaging in combat and never realising they just. get more swords

I gotta say the breakable weapons system isn't that bad as people or some reviewers claimed to be. I wasn't fond of it (as I wasted a good load of them fighting Lynels) but it didn't kill my overall game experience (I later discovered you can attack Lynels without wasting your weapons by mounting them). I'm entirely sure this system will return in BOTW 2.
