What is Genesis?

The ultimate goal of Genesis is to create a role-playing universe with deep and sophisticated lore that always expands and changes. The actual reasoning behind Project Genesis' existence is to allow anyone to add their own input, no matter how small or large, to a (hopefully)burgeoning encyclopedia which will be stored and used until Project Genesis becomes unsustainable or fails.

How will Genesis work?

Genesis needs an incredibly thorough and stable foundation to properly operate, this foundation will not be created by myself. Instead it will be created by anyone willing to give the project life. To put it simply: the actual rpg doesn't exist and its conception has yet to occur but you(the dedicated role-playing person that you are) are going to help build the basic world, cultures, religions, technology, timeline,(phase 1) and then let the project loose so that it can be brought to life within rpgs that could range from enormous epics that change the very face of your collective world, to small stories which have might only have a local impact(phase 2).


This thread will be used to answer questions regarding the project and gauge interest in it. If I believe that enough people are interested in the concept I'll create a new thread for world building.

This thread paints a very simplified version of the final project and does not fully reflect the scope or complexity of it. I'll add more later to this post when I get around to it or when questions concerning the project are answered.

It does occur to me we might not have enough people in the entire RP section to qualify as 'enough people' in terms of interest, though? By my count we have nine people currently active.

I think we have enough if everyone is willing to put in the work and if everyone is willing to participate in a couple of rps so that in-universe time can properly progress.

Any who, I'm gonna try and set up some clear objectives for all of this soon... probably sometime later today. Hopefully having a big block of words explaining what exactly I expect will make this project much clearer to everyone.

Been really busy lately and there was an accident with someone in the family. I'll be ready to update this topic with more details by the end of the week.
