I stopped browsing /mu/ at the end of 2013 :/ Me and my friends all just talk him up all the time, and now whenever someone hates on him I just start to feel uneasy for some reason.

I have no idea what it is about him that is so mesmerizing.
Anyways, trying not to derail the thread too much.
Anyone excited for the next release? I hope it's not too similar to Yeezus, personally.
It's always nice to see what he does next, and according to Evian Christ he plans on getting more abstract with the next album.

so i have been enjoying kanye's music lately, and i think that graduation is probably my favorite by him. i gave mbdtf a good listen over again as well, and it's honestly not nearly as great as people make it out to be. overrated as heck. yeezus is still silly but fun.

I honestly can understand why MBDTF is so celebrated and critically acclaimed.
I don't feel like it's overrated, because I honestly think it is a really great album.
As for my personal ranking of his albums...
MBDTF > Graduation >Yeezus > Late Registration > College Dropout > 808's and Heartbreak

graduation > mbdtf > 808s and yeezus > late registration > college dropout
i really like all of them, though, besides college dropout. that one's just kind of ok.

This section is almost dead anyway I'm bumping this cause f*** it
I listened to MBDTF and really liked it. Every track stuck out to me except for Devil In a New Dress and So Appalled. The piano and symphonic elements were nice and the lyrics were pretty thoughtful.

please for the love of god explain what you're talking about MBDTF's production is definitely its strongest point. it's a pretty decent record. my favorite kanye album is 808s and Heartbreak but MBDTF and Graduation are pretty nice albums as well. I don't listen to Kanye very much anymore but he's pretty alright. I'm not really looking forward to his new album all that much at all.
