I'll start this off with saying I'll first go straight to the CSS and choose Link and see if my pallet swap made it in. If so, I'll dm Refurin thanking him if he hadn't already told me (meh I'll still dm him).

I'll then check out all the menus and likely tackle Classic Mode first. I'll be doing this in my stream too so I might be a bit emotional doing all of this. (What is wrong with me xD)

After enjoying the game myself by going through all the single player stuff I'll play online with people. I really hope Sandbag arena is online. I'll likely be playing around with different characters and just having fun, like usual. Probably stick with playing the newcomers at first.

My biggest worry is where I will have to put my quality settings. I really would like to have them on the best settings but Sherwood's video is making me really worried. I want to enjoy the game to the fullest extent.

Toy around with the options and see what's best for me, my main priority is lagless gameplay but if I can sneak some of those beautiful visual effects in that'll be nice.

Basically what Danny said, using Final Destination as the Lag-Decider (Because that stage will probably lag the most)
