It was... meh. Feels like something I'd rent, watch and have some fun with, then return and forget about.

Paul Bettany is a f*** beast of an actor with badass in his blood. However, he alone cannot carry a mediocre film, that is bogged down by nonsense and ridiculousness, over the high wall we've built to shelter our gems and booty. Some scenes were just a bit too stupid to ignore, such as the angels' "transformation" stages. When they possess a human, they do this hilarious jitter with their heads that just looks and sounds idiotic. Even the old woman that everyone knows from the trailer probably wasn't supposed to be funny, even though the entire audience would agree that that was, by far, the most humorous part of the movie. I wouldn't recommend seeing it in a theater, but I can easily say it'd be a good, one-time rental.

(Side note: I don't see how the woman's baby is supposed to be the savior of mankind. If the apocalypse is happening now, relying on a kid being born and growing up enough to fight angels is NOT a good plan.)
