I honestly think you guys are jumping to conclusions on Terra here. I don't really have anything to back it up, but I don't think he's mafia. I just think he made an honest mistake like the rest of us do sometimes.

You're right. He did make a mistake. Some would call it a scumslip.

Hm.

1. This is important information. I knew it was guaranteed to get the game started, and I wanted to share it before I died.

2. Your previous post is important, because you said it. You don't get to wave it away by saying "maybe it was wrong and maybe it wasn't". If you posted it, you think you were right.
Don't change the subject.

3. I was voting Deciton_Reven because he quickly congratulated you for finding something to nitpick, but I'm certain that something wasn't there.
I've done this as scum: "Partner found some dirt on a townie? Let's push it." I misunderstood Reven's post though.

4. You admit to having wrong reasoning. If your reasoning was wrong, why did you post it?

I honestly think you're town, but I'd still like your replies to these points. (Any discussion is good discussion)

@Shoop: You may be right, and probability dictates you are, but I'd like you to try to defend your position a little more.

I'd also like Dr. Geno's input on the current situation.

Alright, sorry for dropping off the face of the Earth for a bit.

Anyways, I do not think we should be jumping towards a lynch this early in the game, albeit Terra is very scummy for the reasons that everybody else has mentioned- (Saying TOWK is "Playing aggressively", and thus, is town, etc.)

I'll place my vote on Terra after the game progresses more, and there's more evidence to say he's scum.

Another person leaning towards scum in my view- DR seems to be rolefishing.

Anyways, there needs to be more evidence against him, too.

Also, quickly unvoting on Shoop.

Unvote

It's still really early in the game to announce that.

Compare what TOWK had done at the time to somebody like Cactus who hadn't posted yet. There's so many slots that have to be filled by townies to make the game balanced, and going off of what we had 2 posts looks better than none. His posts were really neutral, but they still contributed to/benefited the discussion, whereas not posting/lurking is considered scummy and hinders the town from getting things done. I'm not sure if Cactus was lurking or if he just hadn't been on MG yet that day, but inactivity and lurking can be similar. I mean, in my opinion, a guy that has 2 neutral posts looks more town than somebody who hasn't said any thing.

The telling us all of TOWK's scum reads and then telling us he's townish is a little strange, Terra. Though I know where you're coming from with the whole gut feeling thing, since I feel like the whole thing might be a misunderstanding.

@Authur: Yeah, I was rolefishing in a way I guess. I figured if we actually started discussing something we could get some reads out. Anyone that tried to make a likely town character out as a mafia member would likely have a role that was meant to kill said character, and such. I think the reason Mafia won last game was that no one even considered a framer in the set-up. Also, since Lucina didn't preemptively deconfrim Fool I have this feeling one might be around.

True. However, being important information, I'd rather save it for a point where I could use it carefully. Right now, stating it brings attention to yourself.

Fair enough.

Because I couldn't tell it was wrong at the time, and your post made me realize it.

Yeah, but by that logic, Terra should have a town read on several more people, including yourself.

We'll wait for Terra to respond to TOWK's post.

When would you guys rather have me say it? The beginning of Day 1 seems much more reasonable than pretty much any other time.

DJ Wiz has a complex about dying before he can make a difference. Him announcing this right off the bat actually makes perfect sense when considering the meta.

TheOneWhoKnocks isn't the only one who had posted more than Cactus at that point. If that was the only requirement for getting a town read from Terra, then I and several other people should have been on his list.

Come to think of it, Dark Ermac has yet to explain this post.

As TheOneWhoKnocks asked, why did you decide at that point to stop "screwing around"?

As am I

As for DJ revealing too early or whatever, I think it's fine. If Deej was a Jonathan lyncher I would think that revealing he knows Jon's in the game would actually hurt him. Apparently Dephius got the same info as well, so the whole "DJ might be a lyncher thing" seems unlikely.

Yeah, I think that jumping on DJ for announcing that information early game was a bit rash. I seriously doubt he's a lyncher.

Ah, right. I used to play a lot of forum mafia on another board, and we had a day 1 ritual of randomly voting for people right off the bat for trivial reasons, just for s*** and giggles. One time, we accidentally voted someone off Day 1 during this period, so I always make sure to retract my vote before things get out of hand.

Anyway, I'm on the JJBA wiki right now, and I'm going to compile a list of potential roles for each character in a bit.

Just fyi I've been at work all day so I couldn't post, but I was going to call out terra on that town read on me.

By your most recent post terra, shouldn't I be a scum read? I've hardly been aggressive yet. I have two posts and they aren't anything.
Vote: Terra

By aggressive, I meant playing around with no reasons at all, not necessarily trying to push lynches(though you are attacking me, so that's a good sign).

What I meant when I said TOWK is probtown was that his posts felt, at least to me, that they had some resemblance to town intent, which is to:
Produce information.
Discern other alignments.
And consequently to help others discern your own alignment.

From the way his posts are structured, he seemed to me as if he wanted to go for pressure, which is what he usually goes for in earlygame as town in other to gather reactions.

The people who I thought were null-scum felt to me that their way of gathering information felt either a little fake, or I felt weren't trying enough.

Now, I think I have a greater grasp on the situation, and I'll provide a basic version of my reads. Be warned, though: a lot of these are still gut, and not all are as extreme as they seem.
Reads V1:
Town(S>W): DJ, TOWK, Brik, Pach
Null(Town>Scum): Deph, Shoop, Arthur, 194, Geno, Cactus, Reven
Scum(S>W): Genis, Ermac

For those of you curious on my Genis read, I find it very weird that he chooses not to offer his thoughts on the situation after DJ has stated his suspicion of myself and Reven.
It's really the same with Ermac: I feel that he hasn't made his thoughts on this situation, though we're already out of RVS.
