Just another 14 year old know-it-all who is going to repeat the same argument over and over while being a hypocrite. Nothing to see here, move along.

Amazing stories about 9/11. I like the one about United Flight 93; very heartwarming.

Wow 10 years already. My heart goes out to the families who are grieving. I've experienced loss of a loved one and for some people it takes a long time to heal.

The rest of America needs to stop throwing salt onto the wounds of the families who are still mourning. Every year it's the same thing. They make it seem like the twin towers went down last week. How are these people supposed to move on if they keep on plastering it all over media every year? I'm all for commemorative ceremonies and whatnot, but leave these people to mourn and hopefully heal.

It'd be like everyone and everything reminding someone that their uncle earl died and replayed how he died...over...and over..and over...

I agree it is in the past, remembering it won't have any effect on what happened, only what we do now to make countries safer so it doesn't happen again, no need to get tense like it would happen again every minute, though. Stuff should be rebuild, "carry on" and this kinda thing.

Concerning muslims, that is stupid! I hate when people say muslims are this, muslims are that. It wasn't the muslims' blame. It isn't because one is islamic that one would be a terrorist. I'd also like to point that not all muslims are arabic, by the way not every arab is a muslim either!
And someone said on TV: "Not all muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are muslims."*, WHICH IS A BIG f*** LIE. Because ETA is totally a muslim group and ALSO arabic (just to list one).
+Even though religious belief may have taken part in their motivation, it wasn't the only nor the main reason.
* That quote was about the Muslim Center that will be built; he clearly thinks it wil be a "terrorist center" (and even if it was, it would be more in control near, than far away). I'm totally in favor of it being built.

I hate the dumb stuff they say about the memorial as well, even if it is true, what is the matter if it points to Mecca, or if it is a crescent and all?

As for me: show
, I was at home, mom was cooking lunch, older brothers were getting ready to go to college, then whatever program was being showed was switched to breaking news, and two towers were going down on fire. I thought it was cool, and mom was like "oh", as if it was happening near us, overcaring as she is...
She thought the whole world would get f*** up. I can't remember much of what has happened after that (I mean, concerning my view on it and other people's reactions), except I wanted to see the videos of people burning alive, I have always wondered how that was like.
I know it sounds gross, though.

Wow that's sad to hear. I don't mean to go off topic but recently my friend was really upset because her grandmother passed away and I too have a fair share of losing loved ones though I've never met the people, but they're still my family.

I hope we don't get any terroists attacks soon. Especially since I live in New England.

I just read the the bottom of Green's box and I was speechless why would you even want to see that?

Actually concerning the whole building thing or whatever that's going on in the states, I find it a bit untactful. Yes, regular Muslims had nothing to do with the Towers going down but really, people are going to be sensitive about it, and they should take that into account. Especially Americans. You'd never find some sort of Catholic Cathedral or something on the road to Mecca, or some sort of American Appreciation Centre in Hiroshima, and this is similar.

Really, I wouldn't put it past some sort of extremist Southern group or something to go and blow up the Centre after being built and harming many innocent people as an act of "revenge".

You seem to be one of those impressed people, or maybe you are part of the ones who exagerates in what they say. I can't say it was child curiosity, but I just have always been like this. I just wanted to know how it was like. I have always been the kind of people that likes details, that like to be explained right, to understand mechanisms and how stuff happens, to explore, to seek knowledge, to investigate, to observe, and also a tidbit morbid, I can't deny.

@Kiki
Well thought, and even though I think people shouldn't be touched by it, and not to offend, those people are sort of dumb, it is still dangerous if you think that way, both to muslims and non-muslims around.
But that Southern thing is a stereotype again (but I do understand what you mean...).

Why...

People, there are more people suffering in Africa, and we celebrate this for like for a week, and yet, compared to Africa, is nothing.

Sorry if I actually offended you, I just hate all this attention on America.

I wish the Southern thing was a stereotype, but there are still places to this day where someone of colour or anyone not seen as "All-American" wouldn't want to stay in after nightfall. >.>

*points to Arizona's immigration law on how they can deport people who "look" like they might have crossed the border.*
*points to quran burning in Florida*
etc...

It's unfortunate, and thankfully (hopefully) becoming much less prevalent as newer generations reject the unjust laws, traditions and behaviours of the previous generations. But that doesn't mean it's there.

Though just as an aside, I don't want to seem like I hate America (It's a BEAUTIFUL nation...and I can't deny that southern hospitality/charm is hot) and Canada is by no means off the hook either, we have done, are doing heinous things because one group of people viewed as less worth the trouble than another. But I digress.

That is not true. Not only was it a very sad event, but it also changed the world as we know it, with everything from the people who were directly affected, to the people that lost their jobs, to the stock market, to the realization that terrorism is not just a thing that happens in other countries, to the biasses, to the two huge (albeit unnecessary) wars; everyone in the United States, and almost everyone in the world, was affected by that day.

Thats dishonest! The only thing we need to know is just to remember the ones who lost their lives in that day. The ones who lost their jobs and stock market and stuff should be even f*** thankful to god because they lived. It didn't change anyone at all and it never will

Yeah...

It changed people's views that they are now "vulnerable".

But everyone is vulnerable all the time, you shouldn't stop to do what you do if you are aware of that, something will happen soon or later (and I mean anything, I'm not talking about terrorism).

I mean that Americans are much more "concious" (excuse my spelling) thanks to this event.

Well, I shouldn't speak myself...

So, I guess it is no longer 9/11 for some people, huh.
