Well, I meant that they had two very different gameplays. I wasn't saying that it was odd. It's a difference that they have. Pikachu is good all-around, but Pichu is a sort of KO-or-be-KO'd character. It's about avoiding any damage while being able to cause as much damage as possible (this is one thing I forgot in my previous post; Pichu does have great attacks for inducing maximum damage). Also, like I posted before, how is Pichu lighter than Kirby? (actually, upon checking, Kirby is 70 weight, a medium lightweight (this is not right; Kirby is a balloon practically!). Game and Watch and Jigglypuff are the closest weights to Pichu's weight of 50, at a weight of 60)

I forgot about the fully charged Skull Bash, even though it's not very effective in SSBM due to the amount of time it takes to charge.

Yes, I know the self-damage is a trait unique to Pichu. However, his very light weight makes this self-damage threatening very quickly, since many of his moves are electric attacks (F-Smash, F-Air, D-Air, F-Special, D-Special, N-Special, U-Special), and his other attacks aren't that great overall. I still don't understand how Agility and Skull Bash, which are NOT electric attacks, cause self-damage to Pichu. Also thanks for the info on the taunts.

One more thing... I have been testing conflicts with Pichu (me) vs. several CPU-controlled opponents (Lv. 5). Roy, who is arguably the best character in Melee by most people, can KO Pichu at around 70-80%. Pichu can KO Roy at about 120-130% with an almost fully-charged Skull Bash/F-Smash. With a fully-charged Skull Bash, you can KO him at 70-80% (all comparisons were done in Final Destination). So he's not exactly horrible, but only if you use him correctly. Rushing into battle is not an option with him.

Yeah i see that, i didnt like Pichu mainly because of its self damage, which i agree does become threatening too fast because of its light weight.

Wanna know something else weird, you said that Agility hurts the most despite it not being electric based. Do you think that Thunder should have been the most self damaging? Just based on the way it looks and the fact that its a much larger bolt of lightning than any other attack Pichu can generate, should say that that move does the most self damage, but it doesnt (only does 3% if bolt strikes Pichu)

By most people? Please, he's commonly recognized as being one of the lower characters. Sitting comfortably in the F tier at 19, Roy has a ton of issues with his attacks that make him less viable at competitive play. Whether it's his crummy combo ability, crummy combo defense, or the fact that he can't KO for crap. He has meh matchups against literally all but 5 characters. I think the only reason he's thought of as one of the best characters on the casual side of the fanbase is because of how much of a fan favorite he is. Spikey haired, flame sword having teenager with a spunky attitude and explosions. Other than that, he really has nothing going on besides his fast(ish) SHFFL.

I don't play SSB games competitively, but I figured Roy was a low tier character.

Roy in melee is about as good as he is in his own series.

I could never see a logical reason to use Roy above Marth...

Like the other clones at least had distinguishable differences that didn't suck. (Save for Pichu's self-harm)

Yeah, there's a perfect reason, not enough room on the disc for three Fire Emblem characters. So they scrapped in favor of the newer character, Ike. He still has a chance, stop trying to storm on people's parades. If people want Roy to return, let them think that, instead of trying to bring them down and convince them it won't happen just because YOU don't believe it.
