Will you at least post a alignment list? Like: 5 town sided, 2 mafia sided, 1 independentor 5 town sided, 3 anti-town sided?

I will now. This game has 8 town-sided people, and 4 non-townies. I won't detail if those non-townies are all mafias, or if there is an Third Party role.

Knowing that I think it's logical to assume that there are 3 mafia and 1 other third party. Anyways we don't have any information so I'll hold off on votes until I see someone suspicious.

I wouldn't be too sure about that placement. The game does not require that there will always be more mafia than any other anti town role. But just to get some discussion, I'm going to randomly lynch. VOTE: Fly or Die

This is probably correct. 8 town and 4 mafia seems too mafia-sided. Although the only real third-party threat IMO is a cultist. @Masterp How is that getting conversation at all? It's just you picking a random person.

It was a random lynch/reaction test.

1. What's your experience with Mafia games? (Where you've played them, online, IRL, EM) The last MG Mafia game was my first and only game prior to this one. 2. What's your favorite alignment? (Town sided, Mafia sided, or independent) Not sure, since I've only been town aligned. 3. What's your favorite role? (Basic Townie, Godfather, Jester, etc.) Since, I've only played one game, I can't exactly say. I liked the busing role I had previously, though. | | | | |
Anyways, there really isn't much information right now and random lynching just hurts the town at this point. No lynch.

Assuming that there are 3 mafia and 1 third party group. The chance of lynching a mafia is exactly 25%. The chance of lynching the third party is around 9% or so and the chance of lynching a town sided person is around 66%. We might be doing more harm then good by lynching randomly, but not doing anything also pretty much has a 100% of hurting the us (via night phase.) I say let's just keep the day going so we can gather information. I do recommend that we do random lych test to see people's reactions.

Based on that, I'd have to say 2 mafia and 2 third parties is the most likely scenario here. It's obviously not 4 v 4, because we'd have lost. Assuming the rules are the same as regular mafia on the whole, equal amounts means we lose. So why not 4 v 1 v 3, you ask? Because, even with that kind of numbers, the game would be over too quickly, too easily. I'm fairly confident that the moderators are aware that a 4 v 2 v 2 setup would be more unique, last longer, and allow for more variation. -- To answer the above questions, I played mafia on Epic Mafia for a long time before deciding that I preferred text-based. Every once in a while, my friends and I like to host IRL mafia, which takes place in real-time, over the course of about a week per game. I enjoy that format the most because it allows for the most inventive strategies, and forces the most personal chat between the players. In terms of alignment, I enjoy being Mafia-sided more than village sided. I enjoy that extra level of secrecy and planning that comes with having silent chats, and knowing who's on your side. That said, depending on the role, independent can be more enjoyable than Mafia. I don't have a favourite role. I suppose I've always liked the concept of the Jailer, if I really had to choose one. Janitor is pretty nifty as well, but only in some setups.

No, there are 12 players.
I say we rl as there is probably a town-sided shooting role and they can have a shot too. We have a ml, vig equivalent can shoot, and we can still survive until tomorrow.

@Gold: Oh, damn I'm dumb. My brain makes funny connections with numbers sometimes. In that case I think it's likely 8 v 3 v 1, for similar reasons. Although 8 v 2 v 2 wouldn't surprise me, as I know a lot of moderators enjoy matches with more than one third party.
Something else has just occurred to me which I feel we've overlooked. Fly or Die? Why is it you feel that "the only real third-party threat is a cultist."? What leads you to that conclusion? I also ask the same of Gold's assumption that we have a vig equivalent on our side.

One thing that has to be remembered in FM is that the roles can't be too left field. We have 12 players, each of whom is given a role. In FM, I really doubt there'd be many blues which leaves roles such as doc, cop, tracker and most of all vig. As I write this however, I realised the 3rd party (should there be one) could have an extra kill (eg. Serial killer). We could be in MYLO. I still think we should risk it as I really doubt we'd be plunged into LYLO on the first day.

Mm. My thoughts were similar to yours. I think the chances of an extra killer being a third party are higher than the chances of having an extra killer on our side. Your reasoning is very sound for not NLing, but I will wait a little longer until everyone's made at least one post before I make my mind up. I think that seeing how many people die during the first night, and who they were, will be a great help in determining the nature of the role-list.

If we random lynch, we have about a 66% chance of hitting a townie, and a 33% chance of hitting a non-townie. IMO, I don't thinks it's the smartest idea to risk it, because more than likely, and random lynch will result in a townie dying, and that is never good. And even if there is a town-sided shooting role, they shouldn't shoot tonight so that they don't hit a power role.
My point has been said, and for now, or until someone acts suspicious, No Lynch.
