An introduction to the Beastmaster: show
“It was just bad luck. Sydney Hale was but a child when as he was crossing the street in front of his house on his way back from school that day. He was even early for once. Inside the house, his mother stood there waving back to him from great window of their home when a car hit him at high speed. Death was almost assured but he survived yet comatose. They doctors had assured his parents that he would wake up someday, but knew not when. Instead, a certain Italian Social Welfare Agency offered his parents something that seemed irresistible to them. They had the technology to revive him and they would do it if they were paid in years of servitude by Sydney. It was only for a few years so their parents agreed reluctantly. It was cheaper than having him never wake up in a dead end hospital.

What the Social Welfare Agency neglected to inform his parents of were the exact details of how they planned to revive him. It would be a quick set of surgical procedures intended to wake him up and bolster his physical capacity and acuity. Once he was up and awake, they would then start the chemical conditioning process which would only shorten his life span to a paltry dozen years yet he would be unquestioningly loyal to the Agency. Of course they’d hold their end of the bargain with Sydney’s parents, if he ever lived through what they intended to put him through.

However, Sydney had different plans. The faceless masked men who operated on him seemed hostile and alien. A chilling cold emanated from the room next door as they started to wheel his bed to it. Seizing the chance as soon as his anaesthetic wore off, he gripped the lead surgeon’s arm with all his might, surprised that when he tugged, the arm came out of the socket. Stunning the surgeons by this act of violence, Sydney got up from the table and headed for the door opposite. Unwilling to let their new pawn go, the Agency rallied to keep him contained. It was a show of force that was met with Sydney’s stubborn rebelliousness.

As soon as he escaped the building, Sydney was faced with a middle aged man and a young girl no older than he was at the time. The man spoke in accented English, betraying his Italian identity and warning Sydney to give in peacefully. Scoffing the ultimatum, Sydney tried to force his way, only to be repelled by the little girl. She came at him with much greater force than he had imagined little girls capable of. The scraps at school seemed much tamer in comparison. Sydney nearly met his match. Indeed she was skilled and as strong as he was but it seemed that she was single-mindedly attached to something. Free will triumphed as he threw her towards the man. It was the only opening he was given and took it, nailing the both of them with his fists as he made his way past. At the time, Sydney was not yet aware of his abilities, but upon later reflection, the man would suffer a severe concussion with varying degrees of fractures along the point of impact. The girl however, would suffer a scratch, having been built like Sydney was; that was the only conclusion he could come to due to their even matched fight.

Escaping from where he was held in Adelaide in to the outback, Sydney nearly collapsed from exhaustion. There, he was rescued by a passing crocodile hunter named Saxton. Spending the years hiding from the Agency with Saxton in the outback honed him with the skills that were necessary for survival, whether it be the taming of the wild beasts, the usage of a kukri or the marksmanship of a rifle. When Saxton’s sojourn in the outback of Australia was near its end, he offered Sydney help in finding his parents, hoping perhaps the Agency had spared them. They had yet they had become estranged with the notion of ever having a son. Perhaps it was the severity of the grief that afflicted them, but try as he might Sydney could not make them recognise him.

As he turned to leave, Saxton offered him employment, using Sydney’s skills to tame Australian critters and then blowing them up with whatever Mann Co., Saxton’s company who he was a president of, had come up with. Faced with little else to do, Sydney accepted, taking a hunting rifle and a kukri with him as he headed for the outback once again.”

Full Name: Sydney Hale

Class: Australian Beastmaster

Age: Indeterminate middle-age

Appearance: Tall, skinny, clean shaven man with black eyes and short hair topped with a slouch hat, tan brown in colour and in which various special purpose rounds are affixed like crocodile teeth. He wears an unmarked red shirt made of synthetic fabric, underneath which he wears a white cotton undershirt. On top of that would be dull tan brown vest with four pockets, two breast pockets and two normal ones, for ammunition. A black leather belt and pale brown slacks and a small side pouch for anything else completes his lower body’s attire. Sydney also wears a black fingerless glove, also of leather, on his left hand.

Weapons

The Mini-6.8: Semi automatic carbine firing Remington 6.8 SPC. Wooden body construction with a variable magnification scope for long ranged use attached. Various special purpose rounds for special prey include poisons of varying lethality, tranquilisers, armour-piercing, incendiary, armour-piercing incendiary and hollow tip fragmentation rounds. Usually has a few clips of standard full metal jacket in his pockets.

The Kukri: Your standard single edged kukri kept on his back with a sling. Great for stabbing people in the back.

Skills

Marksmanship: Able to hit targets up to a kilometre in range if given time to line up the shot.

Jarate: A shortened name for Australian Bushwhacking Martial Arts. The art teaches fighting opponents, beast or man, in hand to hand combat. Not flashy moves here, only brutal and direct strikes. Often times it is supplemented with a bladed or blunt weapon held in the off hand.

Beast Taming: Can only pacify if not intimidate beasts in to submission. Oh and said beasts must be Australian in origin. It’s great against saltwater crocodiles and sting rays off the coast of Australia for some odd reason.

Misc: Has a pet wombat named Womfat. Is a Third Person person except to his parents. Lives in camper van.

((Done with as much fun as I could muster from the boredom and usage of a character sheet. I probably also have a s*** of typos and grammatical errors, help me find them. This also means that as your resident RP Champion, I am now fair game. Hakker is first though, since he PM'd me first so wait until I'm done with him before PMing me.))

Seriously, though, no-one in Australia is named Sydney.

...You were actually serious about this? If you beat Hakker i'm next in line, possibly just due to the fun it would be fighting this guy.
