Sakurai wants to put in a bunch of characters so he decides to misrepresent them instead of holding off until he knows how to represent them right. Thats all the research has told me. You're going off on a tangent saying that the devs don't have any creativity based off your innacurate attempts to explain why there were clones. Ideas which are false. Also, you didn't say Chrom "could" be a clone. You said you didn't know how he couldn't be a clone. You were implying that you thought he would be a clone and that there was no other possibility. That the developers of the game couldn't ever think of a move set for him.

They wouldn't replace Marth because if they were going to they would have done it already in Brawl. However, Marth returned even though they could have brought back Roy or picked another Fire emblem character to represent the franchise, but they didn't and kept Marth. They might bring in Chrom or another Fire emblem character to replace Ike or they might keep Ike their are many possibilities they have to choose from.

I speculate that the game is free but the only things available are Mario and Final Destination and everything else is DLC.
