interested to see how heavily they patch tomorrow. people are talking about character adjustments a lot but i'd really like to see a few core engine changes. there's no reason they can't either, considering that they swapped out vectoring for DI in an earlier patch.

The one thing I want them to remove but they won't: Foot-stooling.
It's so s*** on so many levels you have no idea how many times I've lot a match because of it. It needs to be removed but they won't ever remove it I know

Ryu and Roy? Need someone else to come on and confirm, because right now it looks like he's the first person to come across this information, but this would certainly be... interesting. To say the least.

Odd choice for the music and the fanfare for ryu. It should sound like a modern remix of it. The bgm is not bad but, it sounds like they are trying make ryu in 16 bit fighter in smash.

I guess it would make sense. They'd be going off of his most recent/iconic appearance on the nintendo system, which was street fighter 2. Who knows. Even that is debatable.

I was going to say because it's probably easier to bring in a clone than an original character but seeing as lucas is almost 1:1 brawl with some tweaks i don't think it would be that much of a problem lol.

The more I think about Roy tbh the more he annoys me

Ivysaur, Squirtle, Snake maybe, f*** WOLF, even Pichu as a joke would all be better in terms of returning vets
Sumia, Hector or Ephraim would all bring new things to the table as better FE characters, and even Chrom would at least be more well liked
And I can name dozens of Nintendo characters that would be better picks

Regardless of whether he gets new moves or not, unless they stick that f*** on a pegasus for some nonsensical reason he's a terrible pick all around

Just got Mewtwo, not really my kind of character, but I have fun playing him anyways

and I agree with you guys that Roy would be pretty much a waste of a dlc slot, I doubt that he will bring much news and excitement to the game

tbh I kinda doubt ryu and roy are in production. Roy would only really work if they change his moveset completely (which they have more or less done beforec with characters like Pit so it's not completely out of this realm), and idk but I just find it hard to believe that Capcom is getting a second character in Smash. Especially since Street Fighter 5 probably won't be on Nintendo consoles.

Why would roy need a moveset change? I feel like if they put him in with his melee moveset he would stay different from marth and lucina especially with his sword having different sweet spot then marth and roy being heavier

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the idea of Roy that he is basically just Marth but without the tipper-mechanic? Like, the same thing as Lucina?

I'm not against another Fire Emblem rep but I'd rather not have a variation of Marth's moveset or anything with a sword tbh. I'd really love to see someone like Tharja or Ephraim join the fray but just not anther sword fighter.
