This is another topic about SSB4, just so you know. So, my brother and I were debating on whether the Excitebiker(me) or Saki Amamiya(my brother) was more likely to make it into the new SSB game. So, I came up with a system I use for predicting characters, which is Premise and Privilege. Premise describes how easily a character's moveset could be made for the game. For example, Saki Amamiya has much more premise than the Excitebiker. He's from an on-rail shooter with melee attacks, and a good layout for his moveset is seen in his assist trophy in SSBB. Obviously, the Excitebiker's premise is a little low, considering he's from a NES era racing game.(though I've learned not to doubt Nintendo's ability to fudge a moveset perfectly.)
Privilege, on the other hand, asks one question: Does said character deserve to be, need to be, or belong in Smash bros. As one of the NES era's launch titles, cult classics, and vertebrae of Nintendo's backbone, the Excitebiker has much more privilege. He's an important figure in Nintendo's past, and, considering he has more installments than Pit(who was also a NES era pick), he deserves a spot in the franchise. But, he has virtually no privilege.
I'd like to know what the masses think about this Premise and Privilege system, and, based on it, who has a chance of being in Smash. Feel free to give your opinion about the Excitebiker vs. Saki, too plz.
