Barbas stopped, watching Revan and the man from a safe distance. Ready to fire at him if needed. He gritted his, hoping the demon wasn't coming near him. He knew he was no match.


Charisma loosened her grip, before turning around and seeing the beast chasing them. She gripped tighter, burying her head in the man's back. "He's coming!" She nearly shouted.

Julius did all he could to get the horse to go faster, he wasn't about to let her or himself die by such a thing's hands. Why it persued he did not know, he was scared though. He, in a way, was glad he was not alone in this. He looked for a way out, somewhere, a whole in the wall, the gate. Where was it he wondered.

"Charisma. Ev...everything will be alright." He said. "I promise."

He tried to comfort her, but he himself was deathly afraid of what could happen, more so then her, but he had to be brave, someone did.

Nosferatu turned his attention to Revan and Garret, his sword gripepd tightly, staring at the two.

"It's you." Revan said grinding his teeth. "The death incarnate."

Garret chuckled.

"Quite the mess you've made here. Shame I can't let you continue with this."

Revan remained silent, unsure who the comment was directed too. Nosferatu turned to Garret and in a mightly blow struck him down. As he lay on the ground dying, he let one last thing out.

"I thought, we had....a deal." He said and then died, blood pooling beneath him.

"My master requested it be your end, along with your clan." Nosferatu spoke to the corpse. "Now on to buissness."

Barbas' draw dropped. He was stronger than the demon. He didn't know what to do, whether he should run or stay and help Revan out. He stayed hidden, awaiting a moment to strike the man with an arrow.


Charisma had no idea what had happened to the demonic beast. Her head was still buried in Julius' back. She shook her head, not knowing what to say. "Thank you." She would repeat. She was ready to cry, her life was in danger, and her village destroyed.

"You have had a hand in this attack." Revan said drawing his sword. "Now, you face me, this clan's leader, don't take me lightly."

He made a charge at Nosferatu whol swung at him over head and vertically, he dodged at the last possible second and swung at the being. His sword made a nice mark in the grey heavy armor and he felt a wound be made. Nosferatu brought his sword around and swung it at Revan, using it as a club. He took a direct hit and was sent flying in Barbas's direction. Nosferatu noticed the archer, recognizing him as the one who fled before.

"It would seem we are destined to meet again." Nosferatu said. "You attacked me first last time, now, tell me. Are you willing to make the same foolish mistake again young mercenary of the east?" He said staringat him.

Revan starred up at Barbas and coughed blood.

"Get who...you can out of here." Revan said. "Dragon....fang is done for....and so is Ice fang... I need my people to live....Do this mercenary, I...cannot pay you though...." He said as he got to his feet.

Julius continued to try and find an exit and eventually did through the fire and smoke. He felt a heavy pain in his arm as he felt the impact of an arrow hit. This attack was senseless. Such killing, he would never understand. He showed no pain in his voice as he let Charisma continue to bury her face in his back, he began to feel some dampness, he knew she was crying, or on the verge of it.

"Charisma. I'll get you out of here." He said closing his eyes, an arrow whizing by his face, cutting the flesh on his nose. "I promise. Please, don't..break down yet...not until we're safe. Another arrow flew, hitting his horse, which neighed in pain and began to speed towards the gate. The archer's seemed to be hellbent on not letting anyone leave as it seemed like every 5 seconds they were shot at. Another arrow was shot hitting Julius in the shoulder again. He wondered how many there were, as he closed his eyes, holding back tears of pain, releived they wern't shotting Charisma instead.

Barbas shook his head. "I... I'm not a mercenary." He stated. "I am not for hire." He got up. "I'm not a complete idiot, either." He gulped, looking at Revan. "I know I can't kill you, or even leave a mark." He turned around, and began to run. "I'll save whoever I can, however."


Barbas went back toward the Inn. He left his armor, and his bag of gold. It was set ablaze, burning as the wind blew the flames. "dammit." He knew there would be people inside, as he entered the burning building. On his way to the Inn, he shot at any archers he would see along the way.


Charisma's bottom lip trembled in fear, she thought she was destined to die. She felt the man's blood run down his back and onto her face. She didn't know what to say, the side of her face was wet with his blood. Some of the blood had also flew into her hair and back upon hitting his shoulder.


She pulled her face back, looking at the wound. "Are... Are you going to be alright?" She asked, not noting how serious it could be. She felt useless. She shuffled through her book once more, looking for a spell. She chanted, waiting for more arrows to come. She intended to throw them off course with a wind spell.

"Keep your head down." Julius said worried as he heard the sound of a spell book being flipped through. "If...they find out your a mage....they'll target you more then me. I...I'd rather let them think your....just a civilian....please.."

They continued, the gate was right there, an arrow flew and hit Julius in the side. He winced and cursed quietly to himself. He knew he couldn't take much more.

The inn keeper lay against the wall dead. In the corner of the inn, a family, cowering in fear. Afraid to run out.

"What are you doing here?" Barbas asked. "You'll die in the fire!" He ran over to the family, kneeling down. "Come on, I'll take you guys to safety. You can trust me." He got up, without waiting for a reply. He knew he would have to leave the gold and armor behind, but he didn't care much at that point.


Charisma nodded, putting her head down. Just in time to not see the arrow hit Julius. She concentrated more on the spell, ignoring what was going on around her. She chanted again, thinking of the things she had been taught by her mother. She felt as if her and Julius would die if she couldn't get it right.

The wife looked up at Barbas, he young son in her arms, the boy was only about 4 years old and way crying.

"They....threatened to kill us...like the inn keeper...." The women said whimpering almost. "forced usto stay here." Her husband barely moved, injured, and almost broken, convinced they would die.


Julius saw the entrance to the village, they were almost out, he turned around to see an archer aim and fire an arrow at Charisma. He had no choice. He twisted his body, moving and covered her and took the arrow to his back, his armor took most it, but it hurt alot. As he muttered under his breath, and struggled to stay on, the horse ran out of the village, slowing down as it continued to flee.

Charisma's lip did that same tremble from before, tears slowly going down her face as she fought to cry. "I... I'm sorry." She said to Julius. He had saved her life, after she had thought so ill of him. "Do.. You need help?" She asked him. She didn't have any sort of medical bandages with her, just anti-venom. Which was incredibly useless at this point.


Barbas looked down. "You need some help?" He asked the man. "Don't worry about it, I'll get you out of here alive. It's a promise." He bent down to help the man up, his mind racing. He knew there were archers outside, he would have to dodge arrows while keeping the family alive. And possibly killing people in the process. His life was on the line, but he was having...Fun.

Julius muttered to himself quietly, still holding on to Charisma. It wasn't long before the horse stopped and Julius let go and fell off, landing on his side, he began to breathe heavy as he removed the arrow from his back first as he got up a little, and looked at Charisma, the only blood on her was his own. He then got up and pulled the arrow from his steed. It neighed in pain and then stopped, the wound wasn't terribly bad. Nearby was a rock, that protruded upwards, similar to one Rana stayed under. It would provide shelter.

"Charisma....you...alright?" He asked simply, not worried about himself.


The man took Barbas's hand.

"To...the back....there's a door. Nearby....an exit to the village."" He muttered, barely beign held up by Barbas.

"of course I am." Charisma stated. "Thanks to you..." She hopped off the horse. "What about you? Are you going to be alright?" She asked, tears still running down her cheeks. "You're covered in blood... Those arrows hit you... I couldn't get the spell right.. I'm sorry."


Barbas nodded, lifting the man up and putting the man's arm around his shoulders. "Come on, let's get out of here." He said to the small family. "Can you two walk?" He asked, looking down at the mother and child.

OOC: Someone else from the other group needs to post.

"I....need to treat these wounds." Julius said heading over the rock as he lead his horse over there. His eyes were stressed and his body ached in pain and it would only get worse. At least the two were safe for now. "Please....you'll need to help me."

"I can, but...i'm carrying my child..I...I won't let anyone hurt him." She said getting up. She would follow Barbas and rely on him for her and her husbands protection. The building was now nearly fully ablaze, they needed to leave soon.

Eton continued to hold an uncoscious Serene unsure and still worried. Tekun looked at Tara who had not answered him about how she was after that last spell. He was worried.

"T....tara?" He said hesitently. "Ar...are you alright?"

She had fallen upon her knees, expressing no motion or movement but the slight push of her chest; up and down. She was breathing, that much was for sure. But with her head faced downward and arms at her side, she remained stationary.

Tara hadn't even seen whether or not her attack was successful, it was all a blur to her now, She was drained. Vision a light haze as her eyes remained only half opened, gazing listlessly into the snowy ground. Hearing was muffled, his voice sounded so distant and distorted. Her muscles felt brittle and useless, barely able to function.

This was the result of not only over-exertion but over exposure to the underworld. In just the last day or so she had been calling upon it's power frequently, and the effects were taking their toll. Any more and her very mind would have been contaminated; perhaps causing her to become sadistic and lose her sanity. Her practice was a dark one, one no living being should be tampering with. Even the most adept at this craft, at this type of arcane arts, would soon find themselves nothing more than the nether realms surface-world puppet; if none too careful.

She'd make a like groan, her her hand twitching some in a slight movement; she was Ok. Extremely weary, perhaps to the point of causing herself to become ill. But she would be fine for the time being.

"Of course!" Charisma quickly replied. "How... How can I help?" She asked, not sure what to do. She looked upon the man, saddened that he had took all the damage from the arrows and she couldn't even send a single one off course.


"Alright, hurry." Barbas stated, going as fast as he could possible with the man. "Don't worry, I never break a promise." He said, reassuring the couple and their child. "You'll get out of here, even if I must give my own life."

Tekun got up and walked towards Tara whilst on his knees and approached her.

"Rest up...alright, I....I don't want you to hurt yourself." Tekun said close enough to her that she could hear him clearly. "The...battles over. If...you didn't know."

Julius got under the rock as Charisma followed him, bringing his horse to it as well. He took a seat and pulled out his bandages and medicine. And removed his leather armor watching the arrows, revealing a bloody shirt and a few holes.

"I...I need you to help me remove these arrows, and treat." Julius said, knowing he would be a little hesitent in removing them. He grabbed one by the shoulder and by the tip and pulled out fast and hard, removing the arrow. As he did he closed his eyes tightly and almost screamed. He had done the lightest of them. The rest were deep."

The women looked at Barbas and thanked him, yet she was worried, who wouldn't be. They exited through the back, the entrance right ahead.
