Was surprised there was no topic for there. Saw it at the premier during a marathon showing all 3 movies. It was my first time seeing dark knight also. Both were great. I don't follow the comics, so the ending surprised the s*** out of me. Thoughts?

the comics story has nothing to do with the movie

the movies just have references to the comics in some scenes (like when Bane breaks Batman's back)

Really great movie. Better than 1, probably not as good as 2 IMO.

Yeah, but this topic is about The Dark Knight Rises. Feel free to make a separate topic about the Man of Steel :)

But yeah, I just got back from watching TDKR and I agree that it's not as good as 2, but better than 1.

I was referring to Batman/ Bruce Wayne dying. Idk anything about the comics, all I know is that after the movie I was expressing my shock and sadness that he died, and my friends said "it happened in the comics, why are you surprised."

They may possibly not know what they were talking about.

I'm pretty sure Bruce Wayne didn't die in the movie. Remember Alfred saw him at that restaurant?

Considering all the camera angles when the nuke went off I think Alfred imagined that.

It's as Dephius said, I assumed it was Alfred's imagination.

I don't f*** understand how people can assume something in the movie isn't really part of the movie. that makes 0 f*** sense.

Alfred never saw Seline outside of right after she took the pearls and Bruce was trying to track her down and find out who she was. It makes no sense for him to imagine Bruce with her. Also, he got up before he had his scone, most likely because he realized there was work to do, presumable for Robin at the batcave. Another note is that Mr Fox. discovered someone figured out the auto pilot, that someone having to be Batman. With that said, the blast radius being only 6 miles is enough for him to set it on Auto pilot and escape. "Alfred imagined it" is retarded and just people trying to make the ending better than it was. The movie wasn't bad, but him surviving took away from it in my opinion.

I kind of feel this way. I felt like it would have made a better ending if they didn't show Bruce and Selina (at least not their faces), and just left off that scene with Alfred looking up surprised and then smiling and giving the sup nod. But I guess it gives the trilogy a stronger sense of finality maybe. Iunno.

Nuclear detonations can be controlled down to extremely small sizes, I have no idea why you would think a 6 mile radius is some kind of fallacy.
