some sort of outline for the effect i'll be using (not finished DUH) and the 2nd enemy's animations are finished and a LOT of tiles have just been made. Need to work on the 3rd enemy

EDIT: should i make more effects and have them randomly play each dying enemy?

Oh dear god I love it. It's so smooth and all aaaaa

Perhaps the effect shouldn't seperate so quickly though, because this can also be interpreted as a puff of smoke. Unless you are going for a Mega-Man esque explosion, in wich case it's perfect imo.

yeah, in that case I'd add more build-up before the smoke seperates. It might also be really cool if scrap metal parts flies off the robot while he explodes.

I once saw a really really good 'exploding robot' animation at tSR/DA but I lost it. Fjord. I'll go see if I can find it again, it may be helpfull.
