Totally; we could just recolor the :lock: thing blue and use it.
Except I don't think it needs to be giant, only about the size of the little dots that are already there.

What's wrong with accidentally going into a topic that's locked?

Unless you had decided beforehand that you were definitely going to post in that topic, which would be postwhoring in essence since you didn't necessarily have anything to contribute to the discussion and wanted to post anyways, doing so should be fine.

Why is everyone so scared of change? YES, it's slightly unnecessary, but it's for the better. Changing it won't hurt, it will only help. I don't see the problem with adding it.

There's really no reason to. Now you'll have to decide what sprite will replace the transparency, and then edit the skin just for that.

You haven't answered my question, either:

You're really only helping postwhores with this. No one else should really be bothered by a topic being locked/open.

I'm pretty sure Zero Insanity said a few posts ago we could just use a giant lock symbol.

I really don't see postwhoring as part of the issue in the first place. The only real problem here that I'm trying to lay out is that the symbol for locked topic looks unnecessarily similar to that of an unlocked topic.

I'm the one who acknowledged this problem and I don't even have 100 posts. Sometimes I would like to post, sometimes I would not. So as you can tell, excessive posters really should not be an issue here.

I actually think recoloring that blue might be the best solution

A little, but based on the shape you should be able to tell it's a lock.

The circle's the same size as the rest and they're visible enough.
