i don't mind vista as much as the "updated" microsoft office programs. they gave us that sh*t on our school computers and when I first opened word, I'm like "how the f*ck do I do anything?"

I've always preferred XP before, but i'm in the market for a new comp (current one is three years old and can't run any new games  ) and i dunno which OS i'll get...

Vista is more up-to-date than XP

I've gotten used to Vista and feel that XP is completely out of date. Once you configure your settings properly, you'll have a very high-end machine.

It DOES have a lot more customization, and those few nitpicks are compensated for anyways.

I'm on Vista at the moment (long story), and so far it doesn't sit well with me. Desktop shortcuts that I need are missing. A buncha useless RAM eating widgets start up whenever I boot up. Been trying to get rid of useless stuff like the sidebar and what not. Still trying to make sense of the installation paths and what not. I don't mind the ask for permission to install thing though. One good thing about this machine is that its 64bit.

Isn't there a DoS command like bootcfg or something?

Hey guys, assuming you guys don't know about the paint in windows 7, search it on youtube. It's sexy as f***. It has the Ribbon UI layout and it's have a few new features.

I don't think I want to mess around in someone else's computer, even if it would make it boot up faster and eat less RAM. I did get rid of the sidebars and stuff but I haven't installed things like video codecs or anything.

Its not a replacement for Photoshop, unless MS is making you pay for MSPaint.
