Way too many bots have been flooding the forum recently and I'm getting annoyed. I come on to MG to relax and take a load off. But when I get on I see s*** like "Kitchens Cheap" in the Flash Section or "Designer Handbags" in the Forum Games section. Can we please make a rule that new users can't post links until they have so many posts, making it impossible for these damn bots to advertise?

but that link thing might work
then again they could still type urls. it just won't be a clickable link...
i don't think there is a way to get rid of all the bots, especially since they're human.

They can still post random posts and have the links in their sigs. It's quite common.

Make it so they can't put links ANYWHERE. Not in their sig, not in their posts, not on their profile. Users with less than a week's registration shouldn't be able to post links at all.

There's no way to specify links though.
Just make it so once you register, you can't post for the first day or something?

people complaining about the bots is a lot more annoying than the actual bots
just report the damn topics they make and the mods will take care of them when they can

I already report a lot of bot topics. If it becomes a problem, then just encourage users to report them more.
