Hey. I make sprites sometimes too. I don't have much of an idea as to what I am doing when I'm spriting, so I'm just making this thread to see how I can improve.

This first picture showcases, essentially, concept art of a game me and my friends will eventually start working on. The game is titled "Nerds", and we're still not sure what to do with it quite yet. As of now, these sprites are outdated because they don't fit the style me and my friends were planning on having, but I decided to post these anyway to see what I could improve upon in general.


This next one was kind of inspired by Nintendo95's sprites. Just a Zelda I made for fun in my spare time. Obviously based on her art in Smash 4.


And this one is just a Sora resprite I made some time ago. I might be able to pick it back up if I can figure out what to do with it.

They are all really jaggy, I recommend you to compare with another image or even pratice by tracing because their bodies' features are all really disproportionated

Which ones? And could you specify the areas that look jagged?

With jagged, I meant most of the sprite.
The proportions are in my opinion the main problem, specially in Zelda's. Her face is enlarged to make for bigger detail, but the rest of the body seems pretty small in comparison. (Not to be confused by chibi)
This is as most detailed as I can get in words, I think you'd have better luck asking someone else.
