No, but Namco developing the game with Nintendo seems to possibly give him an edge. Unlike Sonic, Pac appeared on Nintendo systems long ago.

Yes, but you cannot deny Pac-Man is an icon in video game industry, he is among the oldest video game characters, even older than Mario. I know many sany people discourage Pac-Mac's Smash appearance because of the reimagening Bandai Namco did to him.

Interesting new info today. Continuous jabs like fox's for example now always end with a finisher. That's pretty cool. I always thought continuous jabs felt weird in game, and that should tighten them up for sure.

So, this will happen to Fox, Falco, Captain Falcon, Kirby, Meta Knight, DDD, G&W, Diddy, Sheik, and Little Mac (I'm guessing this).

I can't wait to see what all the other new combo finishers are. I still feel that some characters should have them however I also think this is a really good thing

Pac-Man is a icon of long-dead arcade gaming. Donkey Kong is an icon of long-dead arcade gaming that actually has games people love beyond that and is actually relevant to Nintendo. Sure, people liked the arcade Pac-Man game, but look beyond that. Donkey Kong Country 2 is one of the best games ever made. Pac-Man [whatever] isn't.

The s*** Pac-Man Atari 2600 port was one of the reasons for the video gaming crash of 1983 which Nintendo had to f*** save the industry from. If anything, Pac-Man is one of the least deserving characters to be in the game. The only good thing about his inclusion would be beating the s*** out of him with R.O.B

Hey-o. I've been thinking a lot while in caveman mode these couple of days, and I had to go back and read all the posts and I saw a lot on Pac-Man again, only this time it wasn't so much "I hope he doesn't make it in" as it was "He's not gonna be in cuz of [insert game company/time relevance reason here]."

But what can he bring to Smash as a game? His Pac-Man World games are at least fun and have him do pretty cool stuff in terms of combat and moving around. There's a lot of potential as him as a fighter, which a topic I've seen avoided in his discussions in favor of "well, Namco is working on it/Namco might not even get a rep/Pac-Man is dead/Name-calling."

So... let's discuss what he can bring as a character, maybe? As a pellet-slinging. butt-bouncing, charge-running eataholic as a fighter he at least seems somewhat [in]comparable to Kirby in the fact that he comsumes what he eats in favor of absorbing their attributes.
