i think the thing that irritated me with FF7 was how much you have to interact with the overworld to continue on through the game
i've spent like 20 minutes between the button and the swinging wire early in the game, it's really frustrating
plus the game in general felt very boring to me, nothing really felt exciting enough to keep on playing

After having no internet for two weeks, I started playing games a lot more than usual, and did a few playthroughs of Final Fantasy 1.
I also now know that 4 white mages is a very viable party, considering I beat Omega without any trouble.
I'm also ready to fight Chaos as 4 black mages, and I'm on my way to fight Lich as 4 monks.
The game has absolutely no interesting story, no fancy skills and no player dialogue. It's so extremely simple. But I love it so much, and I can always play it.

They actually made Cloud look like he did in VII instead of the emofaggot AC design and that alone is miraculous
