NO

DPPt are definitely better. All HGSS have is the story, which is from gen II anyway
Honestly, the replay value of GSC is higher than HGSS imo

well then your opinion is wrong

ahaha

more content doesn't necessarily mean more replay value, smartness

especially if the added content is s***

I believe we're on two different wavelengths here.

the dictionary wrote:
Replay value or replayability is the entertainment value of playing a game more than once. In some cases, factors that influence replay value are the result of the game's programming (extra characters, alternate endings, etc.). Other times, the replay value of a game might be based entirely on the individual's tastes; a player might enjoy a game because he/she likes the music or graphics...

well there's always nostalgia
i have random wants to play either Gold or Silver occasionally, and i never thought twice about playing HGSS
there's just something unappealing that i can't quite put my finger on

EDIT: oh my god I found my copy of Pokemon Box Ruby and Sapphire.
I forgot I had this for the longest time. I went and read about it and apparently it was meant to only be sold in the Pokemon Center in New York City. I didn't get it from there, musta been lucky. Checked on Amazon and used English copies go for over $80.

EDIT 2: I need help prioritizing Pokemon games. What order should I get Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Leaf Green, assuming I already have Fire Red? I don't want to get them all at one time just in case I get bored too fast.

The best theory I've heard for it so far is that it'll be the first of a heart/love type. I dunno about anyone here, but that sounds like a really fitting type to add in considering what Pokemon's been all about since day 1.

I thought Pokemon was about trading & battling monsters

On the surface, yes. But think about it, much of the story is based around the emotional connection between you and your pokemon. Even the fact that some pokemon only evolve if they like you. It makes perfect sense to me.

Course this is without bringing in the anime or Team Plasma's little quirks.

Return could also become a heart-type move, but it still sounds like a longshot.

I'd actually support this. Other moves that could be "heart" type are Attract, Charm, Sweet Kiss, Lovely Kiss, and Captivate.

Honestly, you don't need R/S if you have Emerald.
But if you want them for like, collecting, then I would personally get Emerald first, then Leaf green later, then R/S would be my last priority.

There's some exclusive stuff in each game, although not very much. And yeah, collecting's part of it.
That's a pretty good way of going about things. Thanks.

No problem at all.
I think I might start collecting them too.

I had all of the mainstream ones excluding Black (2) and White (2), Crystal, and Soul Silver at one point or another.
Now, all I have are Gold and Silver (which don't save), Red, two copies of Yellow, Fire Red, and Platinum (which is in a broken case). I wish there was a Pokemon Box for gen 4 and gen 5, so I wouldn't lose my Espeon if I restarted. Guess I just gotta wait if I ever find my DS again (which SHOULD have Heart Gold in it if I'm right), or my copies of D/P. If not, I'll have to buy new ones. :/
I also have Colosseum, although the game disk can't be read at the credits. I started over who-knows-how-long-ago, I think I'm a bit past Hitmontop..

Oh cool. I've owned all of the mainstream ones too, except for the unneeded counterparts (or so I thought anyway) like Ruby ( I had sapphire and emerald). I also had Colosseum, but it got scratched horribly. I had 2 reds that I lost somehow, one Pokemon yellow that I sold (stupid I know), and crystal that I gave to my little sister since she loved to play it constantly.

Too bad you lost your DS though. If you ever find it and need to keep your Espeon, you could trade it to me,
and I would send it back since I have 2 Espeons already in my platinum.
