Why would an animated banner slow down the site. If anything it would be because your computer probably sucks. There is no reason an animated banner would be bad. Also, I do believe we should only animate text.

You can ALWAYS remove a banner. But IIRC, theis forum has never had an animated banner.

I don't care about the theme, I just want it animated. Nobody even looks at the banner, and I want people to see Zero's work. What better way then animating it?

An animated banner wouldn't slow the site down, but I could see it being bothersome after awhile.

It would be really annoying. Besides, you're here to read what's below the banner, not stare at the banner the whole day.

It wouldn't be annoying if the banner's animation was long enough to make it less annoying.. Like let's say you have a banner for 5 frames, and it constantly repeats. That's annoying. If it's long enough...let's say around 20 or 30 frames, it could be less annoying then a 5 framed one.
