Eight reasons i use Tails:
1.My name duh
2.His Side Special is a good stun attack it's awsome! :)
3.He can jump Multiple times so he is OP at surviving! :) Like :kirby:
4. His Down Special (or down attack, i don't remember) is useful when flying off of the map for KOing people.
5. He can cancel several characters attacks like :megaman: 's Up Special. Because :tails: 's Up Special is an overtime attack and deals damage in a certain area in a certain time.
6. His P Triple Combo is a decent stun attack.
7.His Down Special is Good to fully stun a character.
8.He can counter so many of Sonic's attacks. For example, if he does it in time, he can counter Sonic's Side Special!

Now his side b spam is his down tilt,his new side b a comand comand grab
Now he has only 2 jumps but he can floats a litle
His down b is more powerfull i guess
And everyone can counter sonics side b

Multiple jumps AND float? Okay... Id rather stay with 4 mid-air jumps but then again, I cant really tell how this is going to work out yet. Float Cancel Bair sounds scary though, and being able to float to chase your opponent and use 2 jumps afterwards might also be interesting, but idk how often that would be better than just running up and stuff (ok, high off the ground?) I really dont know what to think of that.


Considering I missed the stream completely thanks to BS vacation WiFi, were there any other Tails changes you guys noticed?

But why does everyone hate Tails? Is it because of his side-B? I don't even spam it but people still rage anyway...

Aside from the fact that there seriously are no Tails mains left at the moment (although I might pick him up yet again), the few randoms that do play Tails have a huge tendendcy to spam Side B. I actually heard more complaints about Tails than about Marth, definetly not an easy feat by any means.

Okay. I'm going to be honest here. Side-B in 0.9b is just too damn OP. Seriously. I've seen people spam it so many DAMN times that I can't stand it. Thank god it changed in BETA.

If only there was some sort of defensive mechanism that allowed you to not take damage from attacks...

In all seriousness, yes it's very good, but it's not unbeatable. Proper defensive input will nullify it almost completely. If you play a character with a terrible recovery, it's a lot harder to counter, but most characters aren't that screwed by it.

Playing against Tails (took me a while to figure this out) isn't about directly beating his options, because generally you don't, but instead punishing things once they aren't a threat to you. You're unlikely to outprioritize down-B, but shieldgrabbing still works.

^Pretty much everything what Code said. Rhythm Twister is really more annoying than anything (and definetly NOT OP by any means), but it being annoying helps getting away with it when you really should be able to punish it more often than not.


As yet another attempt to spark some discussion here thats not related to "Tails OP", "Tails vs random Sonic char here plz" or something along those lines, Im curious as to how the :tails: vs. :ichigo: MU works out according to people that actually know their stuff. That has been one of my least favorite MUs for an eternity by now, and Id appreciate it if anyone had some good input. That sword is just too big for my taste, and Im too "dumb" to edgeguard Side B as well properly. Once I get in I usually can keep the pressure up, but getting around that huge sword with little fox limbs is kinda frustrating.

So...how exactly does Tails' flight work in Beta? I heard it's..."radically" different than what we're used to in v0.9b.

So people hate the Side B... Well I can see why. Some guy made a room called "stop Side B spam" but always used side B when they were in a pinch, then finally used a different move like back air to finish me off after racking up damage.

For Sonic, a spin dash or homing attack works well against it, but I doubt anyone wants to keep guarding side B all the time. I never thought i'd say this, but Tails is even worse than Naruto and Lloyd. At least they spam multiple moves.

Not to say I don't enjoy playing playing as him. He's cool, just not when others play as him. So, no one really is a good Tails.

Side B is relatively easy to just beat out with other attacks, and its super unsafe on shield from my experience, so you can shieldgrab it, Nair OoS etc. Most characters have at least one quick OoS option, and other chars can actually punish Tails before he can get too close with it in the first place. If you have a spammable projectile thats also great to stop that. People are really just whining about that move way too much when in reality its not hard to get around imo.
