"Beginner's luck!" Alice said. Maybe she was right, everything was going so oddly smooth. But he hoped it would stay like that. "But seriously," she continued, "you should be more careful! Some of these are extremely dangerous. Worst case scenario you'd pick Fragor and blow yourself up." Wait, blow himself up? Are there sigils like that? She has to mean that accidentally. "Maybe you should practice a little more before trying that on people." She then hands Johnathan 5 sheets, each with different sigils, how to draw them and use them correctly. "Study these carefully! If you let the non-Omnivident students see them they'll think you worship the devil or something, so hiding them would be a great idea." That would mean not letting anyone besides who was here see it. He agreed though, it wouldn't be wise to flash the sheets. "Thanks." He says before leaving.

He rushed to his dorm, entered his room and closed the door to practice his sigils.

Meanwhile, Lukas was right outside the classroom. He had been for a while, really. He'd more or less followed August there; it'd been pleasant to find that someone willing to help him acquire some wine was his roommate, though he hadn't drank any yet. On the off-chance that he drank too much, it wouldn't be good if he wasn't in tip-top shape the first day.

But anyway, he'd sorta followed August. He'd wanted to wait a few seconds, or a minute, but then the teacher started talking about knowing August had smoked and such. This was worrying' what if she'd seen the booze? And... what's this 'ghost' or 'Arte' stuff about? His 'nature'? Was this... a prank of some sort? A punishment for being caught smoking? If so, then receiving the invitation also meant he'd been seen doing something bad, and the only such thing he remembered doing was the whole 'wine' fiasco. And... if his uncle caught word of this... he hated to even think about it. He'd been so careful! What the hell was going on?!

Then Johnathan rushed past him, with a grin on his face. Other people were here too, it seemed... and they didn't seem frightened. Maybe... walking in would be okay? Maybe she was just publicly chastising him (which he was pretty sure was bad form), and he had nothing to do with it, and this was a perfectly normal club... thing... about ghosts. Okay. Yeah. Completely normal. Just... walk right in there, with a stupid grin on his face. Any sweat on his face could be attributed to having to run here right after taking a shower and stuff! So... let's just... be cool.

And he just waltzed right in there, smiling. He was pretty good at this whole 'faking emotions' thing, if he said so himself. "Atch, sorry I'm late..."

And then he saw a guy with armor. And he stared. Just... stared.

OOC: I wouldn't say she's a telepath exactly... XD

It was apparent that August was having difficulty believing in what Miss Rachel had stated, which in all honesty she wasn't surprised. Had she herself not been raised to belief in spirits and ghosts, she too would have difficulty stomaching all that she had said. It was then that the bookshelf rumbled open as Johnathan exited from the s**** with papers in his hand and a grin on his face. She was happy that the boy had so quickly taken to his new abilities, though the disturbance only served to possibly further confuse August, and the other naturae boy whom she knew stood standing outside the room. However before she could invite the child inside the room he entered on his own accord, and found himself staring at Sir William. She walked over to the door of the room, closed it and then locked it to prevent any further disturbances, any other late comers would have to wait until she was ready to receive them.

"Ah Lukas," she said as lightheartedly as she could, "I see you've met Sir William. Yes, he is a ghost. Yes, I know you've been standing out there long enough to have heard about spirits. Yes, you too have abilities like your peer August here, though not quite the same. And yes, I know of your smuggling of alcohol into your room." she smiled at him "But, you're not in trouble" She then turned to August once again.

"August, I know everything about you, and if I tried I could know everything that was going to happen to you. That's how I knew you had been smoking, and that's how I knew about the alcohol" she said while turning to Lukas. "This is real. Ghosts are real. Monsters are real. Demons are real. Your abilities may not have had an opportunity to reveal themselves, but once they do they will be a threat not only to yourself, but to others around you; especially for you August. As your abilities have more time to grow unchecked, you'll become a beacon to all spirits in your vicinity and some of them will try to destroy you." she sighed "I'm not saying that the both of have to join this club, there are sessions in this school to help you live normal lives and minimizing the effects of your powers. It's just that this club will not only teach you how to reign in your powers, but to also use them to fight those who seek to bring destruction to mankind." That being said, she pointed to the gaping hole of darkness where the bookcase once stood.

"There is nothing more I can say or do besides you two witnessing for yourselves the powers that you have. Go into the s**** and look for a student named Alice. Tell her that you are Artes Naturae students, August, specializing in fire, and Lukas, specializing in wood. She will then give you August a lighter and you Lukas some seeds and probably a small plant of your own to test your abilities." She shrugged to herself "Though if you still feel as if this is a joke, you may leave this room and forget this all happened," then her eyes turned yellow and began to glow "However, should you leave, we will meet again in the near future"

It was then that she heard Carter walking up the steps, it seems that another set of the assessments had been completed.

Evelyn listened to both Basil and Adi without batting an eyelash. Outwardly, she seemed to not care, and in her head she couldn't imagine how they could've expected her to act during that so called assessment with those two as her teammates, though much much deeper in the depths of her heart she was slightly saddened by the reproof, she wanted to be the best, and look where it had gotten her. She nodded after being dismissed and began to walk away before Carter grabbed her shoulder wanting to talk. It took everything in her from grabbing the boy's wrist and flipping him onto the ground, and she turned to face him. He apologized for his behaviour stating his reasoning for it being her own rough treatment with him and his own natural curiosity due to his abilities. Her eyes remained narrowed, though the softened as he spoke. She too remembered when her abilities first developed, she barely spent any time on the ground for weeks, and remained floating for as long as she could. He began to walk away but then stopped to turn back and say one last thing:

"If you still don't like me, I get it, but please know that I'm not usually like this."

Evelyn smirked, she had to hand it to the boy, he played the pity line fairly well and she shrugged, she was going to be stuck with the boy until either one of them died, or graduated, she may as well act at least civil with him.

"Uh..." she began "I guess I'll...uh...see you in class" she said as he left.

While the other two new members had left, Evelyn wanted to explore the rest of the s****, it wasn't often that she got to fly freely anymore now that she was no longer at home. She began to levitate off the ground and floated towards the hall that led to the training area, as her older sisters had described it as being a wonderful place to train.

Li couldn't help but laugh after Johnathan left. The amount of joy was contagious and hit Li straight in the face. After his quick giggle, Li turned to respond to Alice.

"I'm guessing the others didn't get the memo. I'm going to head out to the front to see if anyone is around," he told Alice as he walked out. In the main area, Li noticed the other group had finished and most of them left. He looked over to Adi and gave him a quick nod. Scanning the area more, Li noticed the one girl floating towards the training area. For a moment, Li thought she was also studying the same Arte, but then realized someone so young could barely master levitation through the flow. Li could barely do it himself without exhausting himself so quickly. He followed her to the hall to the training room.

"A nimble one are we?", Li said to Evelyn.

Logan sighed as Evelyn and Carter left him standing alone in the s****. Rather than take his leave, he walked up to Adi.
"If ye can teach me how tae wield my weapons, I'm interested." He said with earnest. His mind was set on learning how to fight properly. No joking. No c*** smirk.

"Junior Douglas, when I said you were dismissed, I lied. Meet me at the training hall, your supplementary lesson in close quarters combat begins now."

He left towards the training hall, having seen Li heading that way in pursuit of the flying junior St. Augustine. He ignored the two as they conversed, instead heading immediately to the weapon rack, trying to find a shield that was as close to the size of a targe shield as possible. He found one, and waited for the arrival of his pupil.

Logan followed Adi eagerly to the training room. The s**** was far more extensive than first impressions had lead him to believe. The place was practically an entire school in its own right, hiding just beneath Arclight academy. Stepping into the training hall, he spied Evelyn and Adi's fellow third year conversing. Adi seemed oblivious of them, however, making immediately for the rack of weapons. He was picking through a bunch of shields, presumably looking for one similar to Logan's targe. Now this was more his speed.
"So, what're we goin' tae start with?" Logan asked intently. "A mace? Halberd?" His excitement was growing just thinking about it. "Mayhap a longsword?"

Evelyn halted in response to Li as he took note of her floating, for the first time that day she smiled a sincere smile. "Yeah, I guess you could say so" she said "I've been flying ever since I discovered I could when I was six, and yourself? What type of arte do you have?" She was honestly curious, thus far she had only seen the abilities of the new members, a notatorum, an alchimia, and an antiquarum. Besides the antiquarum she wasn't really interested in the other two, they seemed too textbook for her liking, she enjoyed the more spiritual aspects of the artes.

((I am now convinced that Miss Rachel is an agent for the forces of evil, building an army of omnividents in order to take over the world.))

August began to feel nauseous. He looked at Lukas, then at the gaping hole in the wall and the boy that had just emerged from it. He stared at the ghost - if that’s what it really was - and then at the rest of the room. Finally, his gaze came to rest upon upon Miss Rachel. The woman’s eyes glowed an ethereal yellow, something he found decidedly unsettling. He leaned against the wall and moaned to himself. “This is the weirdest trip I have ever had.”

Slumping to the floor, he rested his head in his hands and addressed Miss Rachel. “Ok. I’m obviously high, or drunk, or whatever, but let me get this straight. We’re all superheroes, and you want to harness our powers to fight the forces of evil. Is that what you’re telling me?” He took a breath and continued; “I breathe fire and the dude over there can turn into a tree. Are you serious? Because that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. You’re crazy, and you need help. You really need help. Either that or I really am tripping out and you’re a figment of my imagination.”

He straightened his back and looked the woman square in the yellow eyes for the first time. “But you know what? Why don’t I humour you.” August reached into his inside coat pocket, pulling out a lighter and a cigarette. “There’s no way I’m going into your creepy psycho s****,” he said, lighting up. The nicotine calmed his nerves, and he savoured the burning sensation of the smoke in his lungs. “We can conduct your little science experiment right here.” He stood and held the still-burning lighter at arms length, as if issuing a challenge. Defiantly, and with a hint of sarcasm he said, “tell me what to do, professor.”

Once the group splintered Basil hung back near the wall and continued watching the members. Adi and Logan hurried off to spar, Carter ran off somewhere, and Evelyn floated off to the other end of the training room. Now that he satisfied his role for the day, he was free to leave. However, before he headed out, he caught sight of Alice and walked up behind her.

"What ever else there is to do, you can handle it."

Evelyn turned around almost immediately to Li's calling. The girl gave a genuine smile to Li, as she seemed to enjoy the attention. "Yeah, I guess you could say so" she said "I've been flying ever since I discovered I could when I was six, and yourself? What type of arte do you have?", Evelyn asked.

"Well for starters, I can do something similar to you", replied Li. He closed his eyes and breathed in an out slowly, then started to levitate in place. This is a fairly new skill for Li, as he had just learned it, so the levitation couldn't be held for very long. After a few seconds, Li dropped back down to the ground. "That's for starters, although that's only part of my arte. I've studied the Artes Fluunt, particularly the Way of the East," said Li although he didn't expect Evelyn to know what this meant.

"Being a disciple of the Way of the East, I can imbue simple objects with spiritual energy and call upon a few spirits of my own". As Li said this, he pulled out a pen from his back pocket and held it out in front of him. The pen started to glow with a light green haze. Next, Li placed the pen back in his pocket and clasped his hands together to call upon Lu Bu. Lu Bu slowly faded into shape in front of the two. He greeted Lu with a bow, which Lu then bowed back.

"Welcome Lu, it's been a while. Would you mind bringing one of your soldiers for a demonstration?", Li asked.

"Absolutely sir," Lu replied with with a bow. As he bowed, a Chinese soldier faded next to him. Lu Bu faded away back to rest.

Turning back to Evelyn, Li started to explain what his Arte was further. Pulling the pen back out of his pocket, Li started to imbue it with energy. "Now with something imbued with spiritual energy, it can be used as quite an effective weapon. Forgive me", Li said. He turned to the soldier and threw the pen at him like a dagger. The pen went straight through the soldier's armor and stuck into him like a knife. "You may return", Li said with a bow to him. The soldier bowed back and then faded away. The pen fell to the ground and returned to being a normal pen. "And that's pretty much it", Li concluded.

(OOC: Lu Li blah blah this was confusing to type)

Adi's face twisted with irritation, if only for a moment, as the junior pelted him with questions. Enthusiasm was fine but you had to be reasonable too.

"None of those," Adi replied flatly, "It would be unwise to train in a weapon in you will not be using. Conjure your weapon and shield."

Adi took a few steps back, trying on the shield and seeing how it would affect his balance. His balance was affected but since this was for junior Douglas' good, he'd put up with it. Quietly, he focused his mind to define the shape and structure of his weapon, the karambit. For this exercise he chose a bigger blade which made it about the size of a good combat knife. Foregoing the characteristic finger guard as well, Adi's projected the weapon in his free hand. It was sheathed in wood and looked plain, but for an Omnivident, it possessed an aura of pale gold. He took a hold of it and held it in a hammer grip though with his thumb hovering over the grip and adopted a fighting stance.

Carter, now in him Dorm, decided to shoot Nicolas a Text message.
Code:
Nicolas, how are you? I just had my first... Um, training? I had to fight ghosts with this slack-jawed guy named Logan, who I guess is pretty alright, and my other partner was this young girl who was very... Hostile almost? She seriously must have trouble making friends, if not contact to people, I mean, she gets REALLY angry and won't hesitate to call anyone names because of a simple mistake, but she did infact help us take down the ghosts with Iron... Which I purifide from Steel. Heh. Look at me, already using my powers to take down some ghosts to be marked on. Wow. Well, Nicolas, I want to walk around campus to just, y'know explore a bit, I'll talk to ya later,
Carter

"None of those. It would be unwise to train in a weapon in you will not be using. Conjure your weapon and shield." Adi commanded.
Logan stifled a moan. It was no surprise that Adi would force him to train with his dinky little knife. He wondered why he'd ever considered otherwise.
Still, he did as he was told, conjuring up his dirk and targe. He omitted the mail this time since Adi hadn't specifically called for it. Meanwhile, Adi had taken the new shield in hand and summoned his... weapon, adjusting its size a bit. So that was how it was going to be. Logan did his best to mimic Adi's stance, but it felt awkward and unnatural. He figured he probably wasn't doing it right.
"Dinnae go easy on me!" He called as they prepared to spar.

"If you're you're feeling imbalance it would not be incorrect to assume that they don't work too well together. That doesn't mean there aren't advantages. First of all, conceal the weapon from your opponents sight."

Adi moved the shield forward slightly and hid his knife arm behind it up to the shoulders. Right now the junior should not be able to see it.

"Next, step in, and as you do, acquire a target."

Adi lunged forward, his eyes locked on the junior's though he had already picked out his target. Their shields closed but as Adi's turned in, aligning the gap between his shield and his body with the target, Douglas' right side. He pushed with his shield, trying to enlarge the target area by moving Douglas' shield away as his karambit flew out of cover and towards the target. If it hit, it would sting, but otherwise it wasn't a problem. As he came face to face with the junior he spoke his next line.

"Slash, then retreat."

That was his intent.
