I can actually play online now. I think that would count as a significant improvement. I saved a replay too.

ok you guys are really bad with this being specific thing
what differences are you seeing? is it smooth all of the time or are you still getting lag bursts? when you get lag bursts are they long or short? what is the difference between last demo and this test demo?
... also, what happened when you tried to play online before sonario?

Well the waiting room doesn't last nearly as long as before (when it worked after a long time) so it connects quicker. I do get some lag bursts but that might be because my computer is old. And it's not that bad. As in: it's playable. The problems I had were that it never connected at all and was stuck in perpetual waiting room. It sometimes disconnected automatically too. I thought I saw some problem about RTMFP being displayed but I don't remember much. But like I said, they've been fixed and I can play online just fine now. Thanks again.

Huh. That's interesting - we didn't really change anything that should have fixed that. That's very useful feedback tho!

Maybe it fixed itself? Or maybe the connection speed and/or quality affected it?

WOOH IT'S UP! I'll record a game with someone I lagged with pre-patch and compare it to post-patch. Will make a new post on here with download links once it's done :]

Typical speed on a good day Internet type: Satellite First test - Me vs MMLegends (Pakistan) Time of test - Approx. 6:00 AM Est Pre-Patch: Standard lag, although noticeable input loss Post-Patch: Far worse. Gameplay felt smoother but more noticeable input loss. Lagged more Second test - Me vs JayVoltage (Australia) Time of test - Approx. 6:30 AM Est Pre-Patch: N/A Post-Patch: Better than with MMLegends, and less input loss, although lag is starting to feel more like it would on an actual fighting game (Inputs take a second to register rather than not being read at all) More info later either in this post or in another one, have to work.

Ah, bummer. I expected as much from slower connections now that each button press sends out more information. I will say you have really low ping for a satellite connection, but overall unfortunately gaming on a satellite connection is pretty much going to always be a pretty poopy experience since your signal has to go all of the way up to space and back down before it actually goes through the tubes to get to your opponent.
The fact that you're seeing less dropped inputs is good, because that means the game itself is running faster with less waiting. If/when we add lag input buffering you won't have dropped inputs anymore. Interesting to know, though.

From the two matches I've played, I can definitely tell that online has gotten smoother.

Yeah satellite is a**, although I tend to get better matches in the US for obvious reasons. When I get home I'll try with people stateside whom I normally lag against to see if the connection is better. I forgot to mention it's on a WiFi connection too which would also affect it. Best to have data from all walks though to get the best info.

Hmm. I haven't tried it yet, but lemme post my connection speed first. Well, it seems it was much less laggier than before. I had one match with Augustbattle (gg man!) and one match with this kinda laggy person playing Zelda. The real problem now isn't much of the lag I may say, but the half-second input delay I keep having in all my matches. The latency issues SIGNIFICANTLY improved, however. Before, it was freezing and dcing me, how many times. :hmph/:

The game play definitely has a lot less lag it still doesn't play fast but stays at decent speed. i played Dracula's castle a stage that normally lags in online mode. i want to play more to see how well it does but there's hardly anyone online so i can't find a match.
