His grab is significantly better just by way of having functional hitboxes, unlike Smash 4.

Can you explain this.

Assuming you've seen the gif of Smash 4 Pac-Man's grab hitboxes, I think it's pretty obvious what's wrong with Smash 4 Pac-Man's grab.

So...
You made the hitbox of the grab follow the actual beam, now?
That's good, I did not know that!
Good on you guys for doing a thing. :chibirobo:
As long as the Throws are actually worth it now, I can be fine with his Laggy Grab
In Smash 4 the Grab utility was basically worthless to poor ol' PAC-MAN, I hope that BETA will shed a new light on how Mr. Gimmick himself does things. :chibirobo:

Currently Playing: Complacency breeds weakness. My opponents won't stop getting stronger, neither will I.
So, to elaborate, PAC-MAN's grab in Smash 4 is disjoint from him, but the hitbox is not very well represented by the effects. The grab is slow, and I suppose it might be possible for you to slip through the periods of time that his grab is not active. In any case, it acts like a tether grab that randomly doesn't grab on certain frames.

Our grab grows in size to reflect the animation and does not flicker. You may still feel like you will get janked out of grabs, but that's only because the effect lasts so long. Rest assured, you will get janked by grabs much less.

Bump

After playing more PAC-MAN, I do like how he can act out of his dash attacj to follow up with jab, tilts and sometimes smash attacks. I hope this is carried over and being able to grab.

Fair is fine in smash 4 and hope its the same here.

Up air being better for combos.

Up throw being a combo throw.

Forward throw being stronger.

Bell stunning longer.

Galaxian having better homing properties making it better for combos.

Apple being stronger.

Power pellet being less punishable and having a better ledge sweet spot.

IIRC, one of the devs mentioned that most if not all of the Bonus Fruits got some sort of Buff so all of them can be useful for certain situations.

Can anyone check the Diff. from WiiU/3DS?

A lot of PAC-MAN's moves have a lot less endlag than you'd think.
Seriously, try mashing the attack button when using some moves to see how quick PAC-MAN pulls another out without having to keep an animation going. :chibirobo:
(Extremely notable instances are Dash Attack and his Side/Up Taunts, you can cancel 'em really early. :gameandwatch:)

Deceptive ending lag, yeah I also noticed this with Falco in smash 4.

Yeah I am beginning to like him more and more, I only used him to see what could be better for his SSF2 appearance, but I just can't stop using him now.

Glad his grab was fixed.
