I thought Ride the Lightning was universally hailed as Metallica's best album

pretty sure it's master of puppets
and justice for all is their best anyway


i cant really think of any. i wake up around 2pm, go to work, get home around 11:30 (later if its a s*** day) and then stay up till around 7am. hours that aren't really suitable for people who aren't me. i also work every weekend
if we do one on a day off i'll show up though

Lightning and Puppets are both considered classics in their genre but Puppets is the more famous of the two



Originally the idea was to pick random albums from the list, but it's clear there's a lot of interest in spinning Metallica or Radiohead. No point picking a random album if everybody's feeling a certain one. We'll discuss this at the first listenalong.

Until then, I think we're gonna experiment with some different times for a few weeks, if that's alright with everybody. See which one gets the best response. We're gonna go ahead and do the first one this Friday (3/27) at 8PM EDT. Everybody's welcome, make a post if you can't come. I'll judge the reaction and try a different time next week.

As for the actual album we'll be listening to -- I think the first album should be something fairly inoffensive, that everybody knows and can enjoy on some level. To that end, I'm recommending we do Abbey Road. That's a lot more open than OK Computer or Master of Puppets I think, I don't think anybody would disagree with it, but if I'm wrong, suggest something else, I'm open for ideas.
