Agreed with above, look at madness combat: project nexus, it couldn't get any more updates cause of the limits[which is why it went to a new engine] though maybe not or prehaps one day this will get remade on a custom engine not using flash.

The size of the roster shouldn't be limited by Flash at all, actually, unless SSF2 works very differently from everything I've made before. Having more characters wouldn't cause any lag or anything, (unless the way they're loaded is extremely sloppy) it'd just mean that the file size of the game would be pretty huge. My reasoning for this is that the files for the characters and stages are external, they're not part of the main Flash file, and since they're just loaded in, that means you can have as many as you want and just load them in as they're needed, and unload them when they aren't anymore. The size of the roster should only be limited by how big they want the game download to be, and how much time they want to spend on making more characters. I have no idea how many characters I think there will be, though. Hopefully infinite, assuming expansion characters become a thing. |
