I head to the office.

The bell rings. "Well you missed physics friend." Dumbstache says. "You'll serve your detention until 7:00 PM. Tardiness isn't tolerated. Go to lunch..."

"I need to quit flaunting my power...." The Yeerk in his head thinks.

“Huh? So I don’t go to the office?” I ask.

"Just forget it seeing as class is over." Mr. Stache says. "I'll get it myself..."

"Human trash..." The Yeerk in his head thinks.

“Man, what a blowhard,” Kam says.

“He’s just doing his job,” I say, “It must be hard on him, being called Dumbstache all the time. It must wear down on him. That might be why he seems a bit strict. I’m sure deep down, he’s a nice guy.”

Halberd begins to walk back to school now that it was lunch hour. "What the Hell am I supposed to do about this?" He asks himself.

The lunchlady stares at Saya. "Hello." She says. "Having a good day child?"

“Wait, how can I serve detention now? I have classes between now and then? I can have lunch detention or after-school detention, but they can’t really combine well,” I realize.

“Sir Dumbstache the aptly-named?” Kam says.

Halberd walks into the cafeteria. "Ditching is fun." he whispers to Saya. "I need your help with something."

“Huh? What is it?” I ask the stranger, “And why me?”

"You seem to enjoy physics class." Halberd says. "I need to show you something. A Blue Box to be exact."

“Is that anything like a black box?” I ask.

Kam pokes his head out of the pocket, but barely. “Psst. She won’t need it,” Kam says.

“Huh? You know about this box?” I ask Kam.

“Later, I’ll explain later,” Kam says.

"Your um... itachi*? knows how to speak?" Halberd asks.

“Later, I’ll tell you later,” I whisper, not wanting to draw unecessary attention from those around.

Halberd looks up. "Well. Meet me at the zoo downtown. The Gardens." he says.

“I’ll need to meet you after seven. I have detention,” I say.
