I do like MLP.

The fanbase, however, is by far one of the worst things to ever exist.

Its not that its really annoys me, just irks me to think its the worst fandom I know of... I still haven't been to far in the Internet to truly know other fandoms. but this is the one I kept coming across. Saying that; its the worst I have seen, But I'm sure if I look harder I'm sure I could find an even worse fandom... though; I have no intentions to do so.

Most fanbases and anti-fanbases are dumb. I think some are better than others, but the "better" a fanbase turns out, the worse the bad people get, I find. Quite a few things I like, the fans have both wow'd me and annoyed me at times.

Some of the major ones I can think of:
MLP/BRONIES:
This one is an obvious one, but while I can't stand a lot of the random fans, I've made friends with and have become a major fan of some of the content creators that have come from being a brony. Musicians like SimGretina, PinkiePieSwear, Jackle App, Archie V, Omnivore/Omnipony, Glaze, and Interrobang Pie have been musical inspirations to me and have made some legitimately awesome music which doesn't all cater to the show. Following artists like Sibsy, John Joseco, and some artists on Tumblr have led me to finding some of my absolute favorite artists and animators online. I think, similar to any great fanbase, there are a ton of incredible people that not only love the show, but want to represent the show, which is great, because the show pushes for people to be good. It's hard to find a fanbase that is more willing to give money for a good cause, for example.

However, the downside of bronies is something I know everyone has experienced. The painful and stereotypical "im a brony love and tolerate 20% cooler lol" bronies, who are just...I don't know, almost shoving the show down people's throats or letting the lingo (hearing "everypony" in real life makes me cringe) or inside jokes enter their normal speech patterns. I've been pestered by many a brony about the fact that I actually really enjoy the show, but I don't own any merchandise, don't have an OC, and have only one video related to the show on my YouTube channel, of which I was paid to make anyways. I don't feel a need to represent a fanbase that, quite frankly, would bring nothing but shame in most social circles. Also, a lot of bronies have a superiority complex over the fact that they have gone above the status quo and watched the show, and swarm anything that makes fun of the show with hatemail, anger, corrections, and so on...even if the target is Cracked (make fun of everything), comedy shows, or random YouTube shows. They seem to have a real difficulty understanding that everything in the world can be joked about, and bronies/ponies are an incredibly easy target.


DEATH NOTE:
I used to really enjoy watching the show, but I noticed a ton of fans were dark/goth/emo, which for some reason bugged me. I mean, like, really dark, even if they aren't like that in person. I think it doesn't help that I see so many people using the characters or just the L as their avatar, that I just got sick of the show before I could even finish it.


...I would get into more, but I can't think of details that would make them long enough, so I'll just list a few real quick. Mega Man (fans can be really self-righteous), Let's Plays (mentioning pewdiepie at all is looking for trouble, lots of stupid in-jokes), Final Fantasy (the old vs new civil war), and Firefly (shoving the show down everyone's throat).

I actually can't stand many SSB fandoms

Generally the Smash community is divided into tournament style competetive players and casual fans.

I am admitably bias due to my stance on the issue... But the first camp generally annoys the ever-living f*** out of me

shipping faggots, MY GAME > YOUR GAME, MY CHARACTERS > YOUR CHARACTERS, people who actually like XIII

it gets pretty bad

what pisses me off more is people who act high and mighty because they don't like CoD and boast about how they play REAL GAMES

I'm pretty damn sure that second camp was only bred as a rebutle to the first...

Freakin Final Fantasy. I love that game. But oh man, the fandom.

But the worst has to be MLP, Bronies to be specific. Hey, I wouldn't mind if they just liked the show, but every brony seems to be so obnoxious about it that it hurts.

As you guys were saying, and I agree. I cant stand that whole "ultra-serious-about-a-video-game" attitude.
It's not even just SSB, its the same thing with CoD, Halo, Minecraft (Why even?) and pretty much every online game ever.
