I seem yo remember after losing an absurd amount of times on some boss it told me what was needed, but yeah it never gives you any indication for normal puzzles.

The only indication the game gave me was the sentence "Isnt there some better sticker you could have used?" While that indicates the use of a thing sticker, the game doesnt tell you which one, nor the fact that its referring to a thing sticker at all. In fact at the beginning up until beating the first world, i didnt even know that thing stickers could be used in battle.

Just for example: Imagine having played Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword, and the game never tells you about the Skyward Strike. Mind you, you can still use the attack, but the game never tells you how to do it. Thats the way it feels to me.

Okay, I swear to god, the game indicates you can use thing stickers in battle right when you get your very first thing sticker. There's literally no way to defeat Bowser Jr. except with the Scissors sticker you just got, because he refills all his HP every turn and that's the only sticker you have that'll one-shot him.

[Post Change]Oh ok, i do remember now, i just watched a video of that fight on Youtube. I didnt know that was a thing sticker at the time. Since you know, the normal way of getting them is turning the real things into stickers yourself.

Still sticking by my other argument though, the game never tells you which sticker you need.

I have two thoughts going on right now.
The first is, "are we playing different versions of the same game or something?"
The second is, "jesus f*** this is why people complain about modern games giving you tutorials for everything."

Here's how it worked. In World 1-1, the first damn world, a toad gave you the Scissors sticker. Then Bowser Jr. came and told you to fork it over. At this point, two things should inform any reasonably intelligent person that they're usable in battle:
1. He refills all his HP whenever it's his turn (apparently something bunked up with your version or something).
2. IT'S IN YOUR STICKER BOOK. It is right there, in the middle of the page, up with your worn out boots and old hammers and maybe one good boot and hammer. It's big and it's flashy. The game wants you to try and use it. You don't need an in-game message or a tutorial to realize that.

Yeah i changed my post if you didnt see it. I do remember now, but still i didnt know that was a thing sticker at the time. And later on the game tells you that you could have used a "better" sticker for a particular fight, but as to which one, the game leaves ambiguous so that comment really doesnt help all that much, especially since it appears AFTER the fight you could have used it on.

There being so many thing objects in the game, and many of them bearing similarities to each other, how the hell are you supposed to guess which ones to use? Do all of them even have a purpose? I didnt want to turn a thing object into a sticker, have it take up tons of space in my book, only to have not needed it, and it being a waste of space afterward.

Add the fact that the game doesnt tell what each object does in battle, so its another guessing game as to what they do.

I found the museum near the end of the game and had to rebuy all my thing stickers. THAT was annoying
Also, anybody else find the Snowball INCREDIBLY OVERPOWERED?
