The movie came out today and I saw it with a couple of friends. I'm a huge fan of the books and to be honest my opinion is that they creators read the book when it came out, never read it again, and made the movie based on a bad memory. A really bad memory. It had its good parts but I really don't like how they cut out so much stuff. I can't imagine them making sequels of the four other books. Also I'm not racist or anything, but why the hell is Grover black?! His picture in the Demigod Files shows him as a white hippie sort of guy. Not to mention Annabeth is a brunette in the movie. I wouldn't have such a problem with that but the books are always mentioning that she has blond hair. 2/5 stars for me.

Lmao yeah totally agreed. The effects were good otherwise but the story really REALLY cut alot of stuff from the book. -3- 2.5/5

Yes, the books are better and the story in the movie was vastly different and changed.

But this isn't like Harry Potter 5, this movie was atleast WELL DONE. I quite enjoyed it for what it was, there've been many many worse book-based movies.

I liked it, but then again I've never read the books.

That's what these films are for. They're made so the people that haven't read the books can enjoy it, they're not made for fans of the book.

But books give in alot of details you never find in films so reading seems much better don't you think?

Not really.

If I wanted to read a book, I'd read a book. If I want to watch a film, I'll watch a film.

Book will give you 100% information on the subject
Watching a film on the subject will leave you with details described in the book

It would be best to read the book first then watch the film so you can get the entire story straight

Or I can just watch the film. Anything not explained in the film is obviously something I don't need to know, otherwise it'd be in the film.

Actually a lot of important story plots were taken out that were necessary to make a sequel.

Well then obviously they either won't make a sequel or they'll change things around for the sequel.

First of all, there will be no changes to a sequel that the book does not mention. A movie is a book with animation

Usually, a adaptation changes a few things.
