It's not a good idea to use his roll "for mind games." It isn't actually that fast (despite how it looks) and it leaves you open to be punished by smart players.

As for uses for his d-spec. (down b): it combos out of S-spec. thanks to the stun on start up, however be careful with judging your spacing; if you don't use it facing the correct direction, it leaves you open for punishment. It also is a fairly strong meteor smash, and you can charge it to delay the attack and add a bit of power (note that d-spec. increases in power the farther you fall.)

I figured out something with the down special. If you jump and immediately use down special, you'll still get the meteor hitbox immediately close to the ground. So far, it's been a really good tech chase move for me from down throw. It pops people up like a meteor on grounded foes, but you're on the ground yourself, you can hit them with an up smash. Of course the up smash's strongest hitboxes are behind and above Ichigo, so you'll unfortunately get the weaker hit box. Or simply up tilt or up special and start a juggle. Or anything really, jab combo into whatever works too.

Ichigo's up special, with the recently added wind boxes, is a really good up special out of shield. No melee attacks are safe on Ichigo's shield, even very well spaced disjointed moves from Marth or another Ichigo, since the windbox will just suck them in no matter where they are. Only thing that are safe on Ichigo's shield are projectiles and tether grabs, but both can still be beat with perfect shield and spot dodges respectively. Combine this insane up special with the fact that you can use the wavedash mechanic of his forward air, or the waveflash as I like to call it, to slide around in your shield, he can mobilize the up special for some pretty ridiculous results. And not only is up special a great move alone, and gain even more versatility from the waveflash and out of shield, but it's a combo starter.

True, rolls haven't exactly been working for men. Still flashy though :smug:

That's a pretty nice eye....

Ever since I saw that online match (Mario Vs Ichigo) showcased by the McLeodGaming team, I had a feeling upb would be a pretty versatile and safe move.

Oh yeah, if the opponent if above you and you use it, works sorta like G&W uair from Brawl.

All you need to do is time F-air right above the ground.

If done right, F-air won't have a hitbox, but it'll do the waveland.

you can get maximum boost and have a hitbox for one frame if timed carefully

also you can meteor cancel dthrow, and you'll get more slide on grab if you JC it

It's hard to come back to the fight with Ichigo, when is get ejected we cant jump in mid air like the other hero, we only can press the special + up

I wouldn't be surprised if Ichigo turned out to be this version's top tier. No other character seems to be able to touch him if played properly. Up special is just such a crazy good move.

If an enemy is in the air, Ichigo can keep them in the air for a few seconds with
his upspecial(ontheground)

ichigo has clunky ko moves and upB can be SDI'd out of (up/down depending on character size)

he's def not top tier but hes pretty good

His smash attacks isn't all that kills. He has a really good edgeguard game. Nair and uair can kill as well. Maybe top 3.
