Fullmetal Alchemist was also planned out ahead of time. You can clearly see by the fact that the story actually progressed in each chapter, and had a definitive beginning, middle, and end.

Did anyone else think that Minato was going to replace with the Kunai and hit or not? I think it was fairly obvious. (Btw if anyone saw the pain vs Naruto on the anime. Did it feel filler-ish? And Pain's Face just cracks me up when he uses an attack)

Not even the artist who did FullMetal Alchemist had everything planned out with her 100ish chapters, and her stuff isn't filled to the brim with asspulls and deus ex machinas like Naruto is.

I don't think any anime was planned out all the way, you know that Dragon ball was supposed to end at the Frieza saga?

I think Naruto was all planned out upto when naruto and sasuke faught. Imo naruto was so much better then shippuden, and maybe thats why.

I actually enjoyed watching naruto up to that point, after that, It went all downhill and now I hate it. It needs to end soon.

I loved FMA because the plot went somewhere every episode and chapter. There wasn't a single part where there wasn't some noticeable plot progression/character development. No "OH HEY RANDOM AMBUSH RESCUE MISSION" parts, and the philosophy elements really added a layer of depth that just seems to be missing from other shonen. I could go on and on and on about how much I love Fullmetal Alchemist to death and think that other animes today have a lot to live up to, but I won't.

I like Naruto for the mindless action, don't get me wrong, but the plot on the whole is either too complicated for my liking, or just stunningly boring to follow. There just doesn't seem to be any end in sight.

It does seem to be wrapping itself up now.

For me naruto used to be interesting.
Shippuden is what made me loose intrest.

I don't know. Some of the characters from Shippuuden interest me.
