I was put off by Live Action, but then again, they cite Game of Thrones as an example. Never hurts to branch off, as long as the right people are doing it.

this is zelda a story about a dude fighting giant monsters 4x his size they won't come close to capturing that kind of feeling just think how Ganon would look.

not to mention Zelda is more of a bright and colorful fantasy world (except TP) it's just gonna be so awkward.

i think with the level of infamy behind the zelda tv series and the cdi animated cutscenes, nintendo would be pretty cautious about this. i'm sure they wouldn't be agreeing to it if they didnt have some pretty well grounded faith in the idea.

this is a company that still region locks their consoles and thinks that their YouTube monetization program is a good idea

No really strong feelings on a Zelda show. I don't really think it needs to exist, but I don't think it's impossible to get right. Hell, Hyrule Warriors felt like a good demonstration that we can have Zelda even without a lot of the dungeons and that kinda stuff that would be tricky for TV. Not saying I want it for every Zelda story, of course not, but Hyrule Warriors showed me we can get cool stuff out of experimenting a bit.

This and the fact that the Sony leak said a Mario movie were being talked about kinda makes me curious about how Nintendo's trying to branch out into other mediums, for better or worse.

Seems odd that Ganon's only just now getting his trident, but you know what? Better late than never! This outta be a good time!

Well I mean it sort of makes sense considering that the trident was mostly used back in day when he was more beast/hog-like in appeareance (which today is more of his final form with the base form being human). In the more modern games he's usually seen with a sword or just the dark magicks.

Well yeah, but he did unleash the beast in the final battle and all. It would have been fun to have it there.
I was kinda hoping the Ganondorf amiibo might unlock the thing as a weapon for his base form, but this is totally cool too. I'm just happy to see it again.

Seems really odd to totally leave it out of E3 though

im pretty glad honestly, it means they're confident that they have enough other stuff to show to carry them where zelda would just have automatically done that. since there's not a whole lot of main series stuff we're aware of being on the way that could mean a new IP or at least some cool new spinoff stuff.
from a developer perspective nintendo is usually pretty smart about when stuff needs to be delayed for further improvement. they tried rushing wind waker and look what happened lol.
