And now our story begins...

Setting
Early Morning: Sunny

________________________________________________________________________________
As the sun began it's trek over the horizon, the sleeping Port Town began to awake. Warm rays of sunlight shined down on the city, as citizens threw open their windows to let in the new morning. Port town suddenly came to life as stores opened, and street vendors set up shop at corners where they knew the most foot traffic would be. Port Town was a place full of life and activity, people from all walks of life come to the small island of Dasmal to visit this iconic ocean-side city of diversity. Various boats constantly entered and exited the shipyard that lay on the far side of the port, travelers coming and going. As the city carried on with it's daily routine, a small boy exited a small inn next to the shoreline.

Trevor Ponchelli

_______________________________________________________________________________

After waving a brief goodbye to his mother, Trevor turned and pushed open the inn door, squinting into the sunlight as he stepped outside. It was a beautiful morning, not a single cloud in the sky, but the child didn't have time to enjoy it. No, he had important business to take care of. Stepping onto the red brick road in front of the the inn, Trevor started towards Town Square.

A few weeks ago, a pirate had washed up onto the sandy shores right outside his family inn. The man was in a sort of comatose and was near death. His father wanted to leave the scoundrel to die, but Trevor adored pirates and pleaded with his parents to save the man. After few sniffles and tears, they gave in and carried the pitiful man inside. For nearly two weeks, the man sat in bed, in a vegetative state, not responding to any interactions attempted by the Ponchelli family, only staring off into space. Finally, the seemly endless stupor subsided, and the man's sanity finally returned to him and he spoke. Trevor was amazed that the man was even alive, and eagerly listened his story. According to the now named "Captain Avigo", in a nutshell, he was betrayed by his first mate and was thrown overboard by the crew, and caught in a storm at sea, and washed up on Dasmal Island in a near death state. Trevor by now, was completely and utterly intrigued by Avigo, and when the Captain stated that he needed help, Trevor couldn't volunteer faster. For the next few days, the Captain wandered around Town, Trevor following at his heels, spreading the word that a former Scarlet Dread captain was looking for a crew so that he may extract revenge.

The youth now was walking across the shoreline that outlined the south side of the city, leaving small shoe prints in the sand. With him he carried a small board that read in large wavy letters; "Willing ship recruits, please follow this boy." The Captain had asked the boy (With the permission of Trevor's parents) to walk out to town square, and hold out the sign, in hopes of any interested adventurers would follow Trevor back to the Inn where the Captain awaited. Stepping back onto the main road, he followed it into the heart of the city, occasionally stepping out of the way for adults. The aroma of pastries wafting from bakeries taunted and teased him to forget about his job, but Trevor was determined to not let Captain Avigo down, after all, he promised Trevor that he could be first mate once he was old enough.

After what seemed to be ages, the boy finally made it to the core of Port Town, a large plaza with a enormous fountain in the center that housed an equally large marble statue of a whale, water sprouting from it's blow-hole that cascaded into the pool below. From the fountain, small canals of water branched off in every which way, all of them leading to a smaller fountain somewhere else. This all made for a pretty scene, and newcomers to Port Town were usually lost by the beauty of the majestic fountain and the trimmed shrubs that surrounded it. But Trevor had lived here all his life and was not for an instant distracted by it. Spying a nearby bench, he trotted over to it and plopped down. A flock of seagulls screeched as they flew overhead, and Trevor took this time to rest and gazed up at them. After all, it had taken a while to get there.

Turning his attention back to his work, Trevor glanced around the Town Square. As usual, the place was crowded. People hurrying to their destinations, while others gazed longingly into store windows. The perfect place. Blowing a curly lock of black hair out of the way of his eyesight, the boy sprung up from his sitting position to standing on top of the bench, the board held above his head. With a surprisingly loud, high pitched tone, he shouted out to anyone who would listen; "The brave, cunning, and strikingly handsome Captain Avigo seeks loyal crew members for his courageous and daring voyage! Only the the bravest of the brave, the fittest of the fit, and the... uhh... foxiest of the foxiest may... uh... join. " No doubt something the Captain had spent hours rehearsing with Trevor.

Ari smiled (as if anyone could actually tell) as he entered his second town. He yawned and rubbed his eyes, and took to sitting cross-legged on his wagon wheel, placing his staff on his lap, and making the wheel float without no strain. He maybe had wondered if anyone was surprised by this view (either him floating on a wagon wheel, or the fact that he's wearing the equivalent of a ball on his head), as he made his way, but if he had, it was washed away by his recurring questions.

Just who is he? Other than what he had, he hadn't had a clue, only that he remembered some kind of war (which no one knows, or even the nations that he inserted), and his abilities, being proficient at anything involving explosive, and his psychokinesis. Shaking his head from these thoughts, he moved quickly to the right, avoiding someone, and went on.

Feeling more energetic, he stood up and hopped to the ground, and searched his pockets, to see if he had any more money from doing those tricks in the first town (which he did not). "Cross blades, I should have some sort of reserve money" he scratched his head (or helmet, as it were) and looked around. He saw the beautiful fountain, oohed, and walked closer. He then heard some shouting, and walked towards that instead.

OOC:Is there a error in here? I don't know, and will look later since I'm exhausted.

"...so that why I'd like to find a ship." said Lenard, finishing his reason for heading towards Port Town to sail away. His eagerness to find more people to steal from was apparent. The rage of his audience, a bunch of thieves... not so much. This was specifically due to the fact that deep in the Darsem Forest, it was pretty much an anti-light area, so Lenard was basically talking to shadows, which just happened to be holding daggers in their hands.
"So... When were you leaving?" asked on of the thieves, Kin. The voice was controlled, but spittle had flied out of his mouth at the words.
"Now. Life can't wait, right?" asked Lenard. For a second, a bird, or some creature took flight from high up in the trees, and a small ray of light shown momentarily on the faces of the thieves. Angry faces. With wide eyes and unsheathed daggers.
At the sight of this, Lenard quickly stepped back, but scared a couple more birds. There, a spotlight of light shined on Lenard, blinding him. This also helped the other thieves see that their "partner" was backing up. Immediately, without thinking, they all rushed up, and aimed some slashes at Lenard. Had Lenard not rolled to get up, he would have been a chunk of meat. Instead, the thieves accidentally butchered a tree, and there came a intense beam of light, which proceeded to blind all the thieves. Lenard, seeing how they were obviously angry at him, felt that this would be another excellent reason to leave the island of Darsem. Without looking back, he ran towards Port Town.

After a small portion of time tripping over various wildlife, Lenard finally reached Port Town. He'd only been here before, when his father went to return some metal that had bent. It was crowded as he had remembered, although he only had lived in a small village. He headed for the shipyards, but couldn't find them, getting lost and constantly returning to the town square. These fountains... They all look alike! So do these shops! he mused. He decided to sit down on the bench and rest for a while. His eyes were slowly closing when all of a sudden, a young little boy stood up onto the bench, creaking it. Lenard snapped open his eyes when the the chubby little person with a ridiculous-looking sign lifted above his head started yelling something.
"The brave, cunning, and strikingly handsome Captain Avigo seeks loyal crew members for his courageous and daring voyage! Only the the bravest..." Lenard had stopped listening after voyage. Jolting himself up, he got off the bench, and stood in front of the boy, unconsciously reading the sign he held up. Time to get off this island.
"Where's the captain? Tell him he's got a member."

Aneira lay wrapped in her sheets in bed, the morning sun trickling through the crevice of her shutters. She opened her eyes slowly the night before had been a long one. She got out of bed, stood up and stretched, her legs had still not grown accustomed to standing on solid land after spending so much of her time at sea in the past few weeks. She opened her chest and threw some of her clothes on, then opened the shutters of her window. The smells of the bakery wafted up to her nose, along with the sounds the gurgling of the large whale fountain and the chatter of tourists. A small boy's faint voice could be heard calling for some sort of crew mates for a captain. She chuckled to herself "Gonna have to pass that one up" she murmured to herself and walked over to her wash stand.

She looked at herself in the mirror, she looked like crap, late nights did not help her keep her appearance. She lathered up some soap and water, then washed her face and dried it with a towel that hung on the back of a chair. She put on her earrings and brushed her hair, she now could recognize herself in the mirror. Her stomach grumbled "I should go get myself something to eat" She slid her feet into her boots normally one would find it to warm to wear, but she didn't care. She walked down the narrow stairs to the main floor of her small home, her clothes and other supplies were strewn about the place. She walked by the mess not bothering to pick anything up, and took up the pouches that hung on the hooks by her front door. Aneira tied them to her sash and exited the house, locking the door behind her.

The sun shone brilliantly and it was rather warm, people bustled about busily. People were yelling, trying to sell their wares but above all she heard the voice of the innkeeper's son. "Did he say something about....foxiness?" she wondered to herself, she shrugged it off and began to walk towards the inn. It took a few minutes, since her home and the inn were relatively close in distance. She knew it was probably going to be rather busy inside, it always was. Aneira entered the inn, people bustled about, she spotted a table and sat down, waiting for someone to attend to her.

Johnny looked around in amazement. He had reached the famous port town on the island of Dasmal. He felt like a young kid in a candy shop as he wandered excitedly from shop to shop, browsing the selection. He stopped for a few moments to admire the port's orchestra. A fine group of strings, Johnny admired. He quickly moved on to the next shop, which was filled with pastries from across the entire world. Johnny's love for pastries tempted him into the shop where he quickly selected a round, glazed, one. He reached for his pocket, slowly realizing he was short on cash. He offered the baker the rest of his money and a song on his harmonica, for the pastry. The baker agreed after some persuasion, so Johnny whipped out his harmonica and played a tune that blew everybody in the shop away.
The baker handed him his pastry and Johnny proudly strutted out the door, with everyone's eyes gazing after him, and many young women chasing after him. He quickly hid from his fan girls and found a nice alley in which to enjoy his pastry. Shortly after taking the first bite of the pastry, he realized he had forgotten one very important thing. Pastries, like most foods, troubled his bowel infection; which was common in his home land. He quickly dashed off, looking for the "Jon." Looking like a pained, ridiculous idiot, he dashed for the nearest bathroom.
After just barely making it, Johnny walked out, feeling much better. He heard his sword clank as he gracefully walked back out into the plaza. Suddenly, over the hustle and bustle of the crowded port, he heard the voice of a young boy. Most of his words were muffled, but he sounded like he was in distress. "Don't worry, I'll save you!" Johnny yelled above the chatter of the crowd. He dashed towards the boys voice, knowing that he had very little time to save him. He came upon a scene that disappointed him. The boy was not in distress! How can this be? Johnny thought to himself. But the boy did have a sing that read something resembling "Recruits Wanted." Obviously this boy needed some help with something, so i guess I will be one of his "Recruits."

For a few moments, Trevor didn't even notice the man that now stood in front of him because of shouting so much. "Where's the captain? Tell him he's got a member." Startled, the boy nearly fell off the bench when he looked down to see a young, black haired man standing in front of him. "The Capt'n?" Trevor started to say, but realized he was still shouting, and lowered his voice "The Capt'n is back at me mummy's Inn. He told me to round up all the ship'ands. Are you one?" He asked, looking quizzically at the man through wide brown eyes, still holding the board high above his head, in case anyone else wanted to join in.

Ponchelli Inn
________________________________________________________________________________
Business was unusually slow at the Ponchelli Inn. Despite the lack of customers, Mr. and Mrs. Ponchelli kept up their normal routines, him behind the bar counter, while she attended to anyone sitting at any of the tables. As Mr. Ponchelli cleaned out a glass with a dirty rag, and Mrs. Ponchelli was occupying herself with scrubbing away at particularly stubborn stain on a tabletop, the bell attached to the front door cut through the silence with a ring, signaling that someone was entering. A young woman stood in the doorway, beams of light from outside surrounding her before they where cut off by the closing of the door. Striding over to a table, she promptly took a seat. Mr. and Mrs. Ponchelli knew the routine, he quickly put the cup he had been scrubbing away, and pulled out a clean one in advance, while she took out a small piece of paper and a quill pen, ready to write down orders. Hurrying over to the customer, she announced with a dull tone the same line she said to every customer she had ever taken an order from. "Welcome to the Ponchelli Tavern and Inn. What can I get for you?"

Daicus Aimed his arrow, intent on felling the buck. He drew back the string ever so lightly, gracefully even, not as much as disturbing the air around him. Further now hunter meeting hunted, both ever so calm for entirely different reasons. It was not a mere meeting of the minds, but a meeting of the souls. Now Diacus had his bow fully drawn, the buck stood no chance, Daicus, was man, man concurred beast.

Then a screech from Luna, warning of someone coming. Then ruthless snapping of fallen debris. Then, then, then... the buck leaped from where it stood replaced by that of a scrambling man, who the next instant was gone. Diacus was oh so temped to kill the man instead for ruining his chance at a meal.

"Luna come," He called to his circling partner, who swooped down through the trees to land on his arm. "Let go spend the last of our coin and get a meal."

Luna just emitted a soft purring.

"Lazy bird..."

Daicus turned and began making his way to town.

Ari moved closer to the sound, bumping a few by accident, and reached a man, and a boy with the sign. "Hmm..." Ari looked at the boy, and read the sign. "Willing ship recruits...I'm not sure what exactly is a willing ship, but I'm up to anything!" he said out aloud, extending his arms out.

Aiolos breathed in deeply, happy to be outside. The inn he had slept in was dingy and had smelled horrible. The salty air was refreshing. He walked along the shore, picking up handful after handful of sand and watching as every perfect grain tumbled from his hand to the ground. He smiled, thinking how easily amused he was.

After an hour or two of walking Aiolos grew tired. There was sand in his boots and he hadn't eaten. He sighed and walked towards the center or town, near the fountain. He sat on a bench near a crowd of people and rubbed his hands together, thinking of what to get to eat. Just then he heard a commotion, and turned to see a boy advertising a ship to the people. Courageous and daring... Aiolos mused, sidling closer and watching curiously. He began to shout something, then stopped, cleared his throat and called loudly to the boy, "Uhm, what exactly is the point of this 'voyage'?"

"Hmm" said Aneira out loud "I would like everything on the breakfast menu and some water." she said, with a slightly commanding yet soft voice. She knew it was going to be a rather large meal but she didn't care the last ship she was on had terrible cooking supplies she could barely cook anything half decent, she would make sure to check more about captains before deciding to join their crews. She looked around the inn once again, it seemed so dreary and the owners so worked out and unlively, she wondered why she even bothered to come here all the time, and how they had managed to keep the place open for so long. She looked down at her table looking at all the notches and cuts in it, the table was well worn. She placed her elbows on the table and propped up her head waiting for them to bring her food.

Suddenly, before the black haired man in front of him could answer his question, several more people arrived, all of which crowded around the boy. Shifting his gaze from one man to the next, he knew that he wouldn't be able to answer any of the questions on his own. After all, Captain Avigo only wanted him to round up possible crew members. Deciding that this was a large enough group, he shouted in an unnecessarily loud voice "If ya wanna meet da Capt'n and ask yer questions, follow me!" With a groan of protest from the bench he was standing on, Trevor jumped to the ground and started for the nearest route back to the inn, tossing the sign he held into a nearby waste basket.
Before he started down the red brick road, he stopped and turned around to see if they were going to follow him.

Mrs. Ponchelli stared at Aneira for a few moments before turning her attention to her notepad and quickly scribbled something down. Looking back to the young woman, Mrs. Ponchelli gave a unconvincing smile and said "Expect your meal in the next forty minutes." And with that, she pocketed the pen and paper, turned and walked through a door next to the bar that led to the kitchen. Mr. Ponchelli's gaze followed his wife until she left the room. Then turning his attention to the girl a the table, he leaned over the bar counter and in a low, quiet tone, he asked "Have you heard about the Captain who washed up on the shores?"

Aiolos rolled his eyes, wanting an answer. He looked around at the crowd, still curious, and decided there was no harm in finding out more. He always liked sailing to new islands and being paid for a little work kept him fed. He clapped his hands together and walked towards Trevor, wondering in the back of his mind where he would soon be headed.

Ari glazed at Trevor, and in a shrug and a quick short hop, sat on his wheel, letting his legs dangle and placed the staff behind him. He thought about what kinda job it could be, but mostly how places he could go, and the ruins he may or not find.

Aneira slightly regretted all the stories and rumours she had missed while serving as a cook on the high seas. Though she knew that no amount of rumours would be able to replace the amount of fun she had on her last journey. Her earrings stilled tingled from the last time she had used them, it would be a long while before she would be able call forth another blizzard. "A captain washing up from the seas?" she though, it brought back dark memories of the time when she first used the earrings, and the trials she had to endure. She sympathized with the captain whoever he may be, but only ever so slightly. Now was her chance to catch up on the rumours she had missed. She shook her head and replied, "No I haven't heard" she said letting some of the curiosity slip into her voice "What happened to this captain?"

Binky and Jong had ended up in Damsal. Well not the worst place to look for work but it could be better Jong thought. Riding Binky in to the square, a youth of the loud variety was announcing the recruitment of new crew hands. To Jong, it meant work and work meant money. Before he could ask, the boy sped off in the direction of a nearby inn. Might as well head to the inn, since that's what the boy seemed to be headed towards.

The inn had a rudimentary tying posts and on it were tied a variety of exotic mounts were tied there. Hoping they wouldn't eat Binky, Jong tied up his horse after uncomfortably getting off. Walking on his feet in a long while, he took out his bayonet and hid it up his sleeve. It was a safety precaution he always too. Should worse come to worse, he'd have to fight his way through to the nearest exit.

The civilians mingling inside were going about there usual habits and Jong was quick to pick out the more unruly among them. One of them had to be his new boss. Well he'd ask the gentleman in the red coat nearby and started towards him.
