A person named Zack. He can play around with Newton's Laws, specifically 'Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.'

Barry. He can lengthen his limbs to add force to movement, mainly for punching/kicking, running and jumping.

Image 'Page' Tomas, a well read scholar type that speaks incredibly methodically. Controls papers, which he uses as tightly wound spears or for binding, and later magic.

Image 'Aeo' Avery, a cool headed breakdancer. Able to rotate any of his joints at reasonable speeds, making breakdancing easier (As well as more interesting.) and for adding spin to attacks.

Also just want to point it out, I am very happy with how Aeo turned out, even if it's not perfect.

Posed heavily off of this: http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/3246/s ... loobs4.jpg

Page could have some more shading, it's hard to see.
The rest are amazing though, especially Aeo.

This one a bit better?

And a new one.
Image
J.T., who can speed up and slow down time, making himself or others faster or slower. Not surprising, a bit time sensitive, and always plays with a large pocket-watch if he's not playing with his sword.

Reix, how much time do you spend on each individual sprite?

Bout two to three hours on the humans, not including the breakdancer, and probably closer to four for the Leviathan and Belphegor.

I think you would benefit from trying sprites that are slightly bigger, or a different style. Your work is getting a little... repetitive imho.

Just thinking the same thing actually. I was planning on making more Leviathan esque non humans or playing around with the odd man out Terran.

I'll try looking at some other styles and poses and see what comes up. It's clear I'm at least capable of what I'm currently doing.

I'll use it, but I still should try customing along with it.

Edit: Another thing I should probably do is make some more animations... Those would probably be in the current style, though.

Because it's a law now that each of my protagonists has to have white hair, I present Miller.
He's supposed to be a farm boy, so he's well built, and only has some raggedy clothes and a dented sword. A full list of clothes is tunic, stitched up pants, belt with a couple of pouches, backpack, scabbard/sword, fingerless glove, and an arm binding that acts as armor.

So in about fifteen minutes, I managed to come up with a completely new story idea that came out of nothing. The OP will have a bit more on it.

Considering you've gone that much bigger in the sprite and have room for detailing, now you really have no excuse for pillow shading.

I would indeed advise you to take redoing the shading into consideration. Pick a specific point, and try to act as if the sunlight comes from there.

I would also suggest adding more contrast to your pallet, especially if you want to pronounce dem abs. Just play around with your colours, and you can always find great reference on clothing (and their colours) on google. I'm especially font of google's imaginebank of 'dark-blue jeans'.

For great reference regarding shading and pixel-tech, you can always head over to pixeljoint, those guys really know how to place a pixel.

New style, new things to learn...
I'll check out all of those things and rework it.

Shading is pretty universal though, but hey, see it as an adventure. Learning different styles is pretty fun in my opinion. I always relate it to seeing and taking in different cultures of sorts but that's just me.
