loling at myself 2 years ago in this thread using "at the gates worship" as a point of criticism - i now seriously contend early at the gates + their side bands to be my favourite streak of metal records ever

never really listened to iced earth a lot until recently and burnt offerings is a sweet f*** album

iced earth is like way at the bottom of my american power metal coolness scale (manowar at the top) but i admit this song slams

i haven't found any power metal i really enjoy aside from blind guardian's discography and burnt offerings so that could be why i like it so much

iced earth is pretty ok though no shame in LIKING WHAT YOU LIKE for example i shamelessly love japanese power metal

oh I’m not ashamed of anything I like, otherwise I wouldn’t advertise the fact that I still listen to a skylit drive and alesana sometimes. people like what they like who gives a s***

anyway here’s good metal because that’s what the thread’s about


i haven’t had much time to sit around and look for music lately, so has there been any good metal this year? not many albums have caught my attention in general aside from ulver and the menzingers which I think I’ve mentioned at least 20 times already
