Remove the departures section? What's the use of that? Attention whores will still do it, and I can tell you pretty damn sure that "oh noez, a warning." doesn't stop em.

A ban of the correct length might, and if we keep the departures section, at least we won't get people postwhoring in the others section again.

Remove the departures and make posting departure topics anywhere else, against the rules. Don't warn, ban them (people who still keeps doing departure topics).

"A ban of correct lenght" is very ambiguous and "if they are leaving there will be no problem in banning them" is false, because they may handle whatever made them leave and come back sooner and be frustrated with the ban, and, not likely, because actually I don't see much people who have chances to be modded, but having a ban would be bad if you want to become a mod.

Though, IF there is a rule saying everyone who makes a departure topic is going to be banned (AND the departure section is removed), they couldn't argue, because it is in the rules and if they didn't read the rules they should've readed, so it isn't a excuse.

As I was saying, we know what the situation was before the departures section, which is why we implemented in the first place, removing it will only drive us in circles. And adding it to the rule is a nice MG tradition to get things over with, but as everyone who's spent a decent amount of time moderating this place, it lacks results.

As an Admin, it is his duty to see what is best for the forum (lolwut?). If the users of this forum actually use departures quite a lot (those damn attention whores!) then they will have a punishment. They don't want that. On the other side, the people who don't use departures, but think the attention sexual attraction is funny for spam/whatever they want to accomplish is stupid, then this is a good idea.
