Gah, you're right. My post helps no one.

It's my personal belief that considering a set up's theme is only useful when a character's ability/gimmick could very feasibly have some drastic effect on the outcome of lynch or night phase.

The only example I can think of is Shoop's Ballos claim in Cave Story mafia, but it's not a very good example because claiming fool should get you lynched anyways.

Hopefully that improves my post a little?

Alright so I've been thinking about possible third-party roles. I narrowed it down, in order of likeliness, to:

1. Roshan
2. The Shopkeeper
3. Perhaps a neutral creep? Or a camp of neutral creeps?
4. The announcer

announcer should be TWOK lol

I'd expect the 3P to be an ancient, really.

Roshan seems like a more likely 3P in my opinion. The shopkeeper could also be a possibility as well.

I'm trying to consider what abilities the third parties might have as well. Maybe Roshan would be able to come back alive after dying and/or drop something when he dies that significantly helps either the town or mafia considering his role in the game. If it is the Shopkeeper, maybe he gives someone an item during the night phase or something that can help them.

@King Arthur I'd actually like to see why you think the 3P could be an Ancient. With my understanding so far, the Ancient is the thing that the team is trying to protect, so wouldn't that have some town-alignment (considering that Radiant is the one with the Ancient and not Dire)? If so, then if the Ancient was destroyed, the whole game would theoretically end already because destroying the Ancient is the main goal of the game. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

As for Roshan, dropping an Aegis on whoever hammered you would be a likely outcome. Said Aegis would most likely revive you upon death.
