Every time someone faces me online, I pick Battlefield, and it's normally the one that is picked. :3

Some people like Battlefield and some like Final Destination. Both stages are great for serious battles, but it overall comes down to personal reference and fighting style. Personally, I like to fight on Final Destination because, with no platforms to worry about, I can execute my attacks without something getting in my way that isn't an opponent. I also love the New Final Destination track so much.

That's because you probably don't understand the fundamentals of smash brothers, and everything that comes with it. Frame rates, hitboxes, matchups, they all must be fairly foreign to you. Tiers are valid. It's not as simple as you're making it out to be. "lol I like diddy so he's high". There are a lot of calculations and discussions that go into it. Research it, and I'm sure you'll get it eventually.

Yeah I don't necessarily like them. However, I can't help but understand where they're getting at. I've taken a look a few characters to check and see how they function and I'm beginning to understand what they mean by these placements.

Myeh, I just don't see calculations, but more of the movesets themselves. Any character has godlike potential if you play as them correctly and abuse their downsides. Especially in a game like Brawl where some characters are slow; This could easily be manipulated for perfect timings. Take a game like Soul Calibur 2. That's easy to tier, like Link being on the bottom because his moves make him so vulnerable. But then, play a game like Brawl, which can easily counter the downsides.

Also, I'm pretty sure that's why Meta Knight got high tier: Because Mew2king destroyed the tournaments with him. What if he happened to main someone like Ganondorf and destroyed the living f*** out of everyone and everything there? Wouldn't that suddenly blast Ganondorf to the top?

When Tiers are being discussed it is implied that the players are all on the same level of skill at the game being discussed.

But you really can't test that, seeing as everyone plays differently. :/

I guess it's just the way I see it, just ignore the posts about me not liking the tiers.

Yes, you can. and that's exactly what they do. They examine frame rates, hitboxes, stats, the whole nine.

No I understand what you're saying, a lot of people bring up these points when they're either new to the concept of tiers or just strongly don't believe them. There was a point for ages when I first got into competitive smash where I would argue for ages that every character was just different and could be played equally, but over time you will come to learn that it's just not true. Character's that are low tier, like Ganondorf or Link, just have absolutely no way to counter a large majority of the higher up characters. It's not that the people playing dorf/link are bad, it's just that characters like Metaknight, Diddy Kong, Snake etc have moves and stats that can be utilised in ways that just don't even give them a chance to retaliate or attack. Even a really good Link can be shut down pretty easily by only a decent Meta Knight, if he knows what he's doing.
It's pretty saddening, but it definitely is true, unfortunately, and if you don't believe me, look to the evidence of tourney winnings. In Melee, you'll find that all tournaments are won by people playing characters from higher up tiers. You'd be very hard pressed to find a Yoshi or a Ness winning a tournament. (Taj is the one exception, being ridiculously good with Mewtwo somehow, but even he accepts that Mewtwo is s*** so he plays a high tier character as well.)

Hope this explains anything you had questions about.

Speaking of which, what character do you main as in Brawl?

I'm guessing including, but not limited to, Marth?

As for me, I usually use Lucario or Ike. I've tried to main Snake, but he just feels odd...
