"Pic of the day. This assist trophy is Sheriff. Sheriff was an arcade game released in 1979. In this game, the players aim by choosing one of eight directions to shoot using a second joystick separate from the one that controls movement. It was quite a revolutionary game for its time. For shooting games overseas, it's common to see games that utilize the left stick to move around and the right to determine the direction to shoot, so we can say the origin of modern shooting games was this game--which is pretty remarkable."

Ah, I didn't realize the original Sherrif was controlled with two sticks. I was only really familiar with it from the version in WarioWare, which obviously is not. That's definitely a much better control scheme.

Thanks for the trivia, Sakurai!!!

Not sure just what your doubts were exactly, but Sheriff was in the 3DS version too.

I'm kinda curious if all assist trophies from the 3ds version will return in the WiiU version. I'm kinda wondering if 'a few differences' means that there will 3ds exclusive ATs as opposed to just more Ats for the WiiU version.

Basically everything said about the 3DS version recently is "we couldn't include this because the hardware sucks dick" so I wouldn't be surprised if it's just Wii U exclusive ones

The funny thing is, this is the truth.

Tsk tsk, should've seen that coming.

But I saw it previously and didn't see anything, I'm sleeping all day so I can go to the midnight launch and play all night.

Reddit's been posting bug after bug with this little guy lately. Game needs patching.

Really, the 3DS kinda screwed the game up. I heard it's the reason why transformations aren't in this game. Because the 3DS couldn't take it. I believe that the Wii U version should really have a lot of exclusive content.

Zelda/Sheik and Zamus being separate characters is a good design choice regardless

Would have liked to see a fixed Pokémon Trainer though

Wholly agree with this right here.

The last part because I'm still attached to certain green dinosaurs, buuuuuuuuutt....

Sometimes I hate the 3DS limitations for affecting both games, but some good decisions were made because of it. Prolly been over that before.

Would you like it if they patched Melee which would get rid of wavedashing, moonwalking and other advanced techniques in that game?
