IMO, this should be a phpBB base feature, because virtually every other forum script does it automatically. Either way, back when I used phpBB, it was a huge help and really useful. http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 9&t=875585Essentially, it makes links to sites not part of the forum open in a new tab. It also helps with SEO a little as a by-product.

Or the middle button (the scrolly thingy). Click on a link with it and it opens in a new tab

Nah, go ahead. Believe me, I get so much flak from my friends, it's not even funny. That's why I dual-booted XP. Doesn't stop the mouse from being mac's only real inherent weak point. However, mac vs. windows is another discussion. I still think this isn't a bad idea.

But... I like having the choice to open links in THIS tab without having to copy and paste it.. (which is a real pain on MG when the topic doesn't let you see the entire link)
What's wrong with right click > open in new tab?
Any decent web browser has this...

If you didn't read, he was using an Apple Mac, ergo no middle click, or right click for that matter.

Macs have right-clicks... last time I checked at the store was last year. And they had right-clicks. Only the middle scroller button is different, as well as it being different on my mouse too. I can re-configure my mouse though. When I click the scroller wheel it shows all open windows in thumb-nails. So I can just go ahead and pick one. Kinda like that tab feature in the Google Toolbar that showed your most visited sites.

An Apple mouse has a right click of course, it just doesn't work when you use it with Macintosh because they are smart enough to create an operating system without right click Note this is drawn from using Apple Macs in my university computer lab.

Apple macs without external mice can't right click. With an external mouse, just go to settings and fix 'em. But w/e.
