Well there are less "popular" kids than their are non "popular"; Therefore, by definition, the "popular" kids are the ones who watch anime, and don't care what people think of them (You get what I'm saying).
f*** I hate that.
and It's not like I'm part of any of the groups either, in fact I'm friends with basically everyone in my school.

That would make more sense if it was the NON-Popular people watching Anime and they don't care.
Popular people are apparently so Popular they can't bee seen dead doing "Weird s***"

But if that's really what you mean then...

we don't have that at my school
everybody just minds their own business

That doesn't actually happen in schools.

I was part of everything in high school, and around a lot of high schools in the central valley so I can tell you that you're probably just judging them as a group and didn't/don't know them on an individual basis.

So you're just as bad as this imaginary student stereotype. There certainly are people who have a high ego in high school, but it's silly to generalize in that way.

I do, a lot of them are pretty nice people once you get them away from their friends since they have this "I have lots of friends I have to look cool in front of them all." In Australia as I see it every day, to people like them, "Stupidity" and "Cool" are the same thing, and yield the same reward, making them popular in their general group, and hated for it, but once you get to know them individually, they're like a whole different person that's actually bearable to be near.

wait

putting aside the fact that what you said made no f*** sense

how would anyone even know you watch anime unless you're one of those naruto headband-wearing faggots?

I guess I just can't relate because I was always inside of those groups, not glaring from a distance away. In my experience they're all just fun loving young adults, not doing it for the image (but don't have a problem with keeping up appearances).

Could you be confusing these people with "fake" individuals, possibly?

To me it's the same thing, I guess, when they're in that group, it's just appearance, and they all share the whole "Cool Act" 'cause that's what they do as friends, but take away the group and it takes away their need to look "Cool".
I guess it's a mentality thing, but, I really don't know. I could be very wrong.

We don't all live in California where there's no cliques, Geno.

If anything California is the place where cliques are the most heavily stereotyped but okay.
