About time I showed actual info on this fangame.
Note: This game uses the same engine as another fangame I'm collaborating with: Smash Bros Lawl. I've already asked permission with DemicStudios (the maker of that fangame) and he has agreed.

What is Kirby Fighters X?
This is a fangame centered around the Kirby series. You could say it's basically Smash Bros but with Kirby characters, stages, items, modes, etc.

Of course there are, what point would there be to have completely lifeless stages? ;)

Alright decide already, is this game casual or competitive?
It's both. All stages have 4 variants. Regular with Hazards (Green Greens), Regular W/O hazards (Green Greens without Apples or Blocks), Competitive with hazards (Dream Land 64 with wind) AND Competive W/O hazards (Dream Land 64 without wind).
Not all competitive variants have been decided yet.

I want my items, where are they?
We're definitely working on the items, I'll just let you know Flame Torches are in the game so you pyromaniac Meta Knight can ejoy burning down stuff :pikachu:

What sets this game apart from all other Smash fangames?
There are a couple of things:
1- The entire game is Kirby-themed so if you ever wanted to blow up Dark Matter with a Poppy Bros Jr there you have it.
2- This is the important part:

This game has a unique feature called "Soft/Hard Attacks". Basically, if you tap the attack button lightly you get X attack, but if you tap the button hard you get a stronger Y attack. E.g: Kirby's N-Air has two variants: Soft N-Air is his Sex Kick from Smash 64 while his Hard N-Air is his Twinkle Star N-Air move from melee onward.
Brawl Minus and Ryu from Sm4sh use this kind of tactic (with another name of course) but here it applies to all characters equally. Just so you know, not all attacks get variants. If an attack doesn't get a variant in terms of animation and you still tap the button harder the move will still be stronger but look exactly the same as the regular variant.
Every character gets access to these tools so no one becomes more broken than the rest :metaknight:

This is all pretty and all but does Bandana Dee get Multispear Attack for his jab?
Yes.

When's the demo coming out?

Can I wavedash and do my Melee tricks here?
Yes, Smash Bros Lawl already lets you toggle between having Melee tricks or not so the same applies here.

Alright, so I can take care of the game's programming (SSBL already has a full-on character builder which is used in the game to make the current characters, so I can easily take care of this), the game's artworks and sprites.
What I need help with: Pretty much sprites (specially characters sprited from the ground up), stage spriting, music (or I can just use the regular music from the games but remixes would be really nice) and definitely Voice Acting (Skullgirls and JJBA Heritage for the Future were my main inspirations behind this game ok).

Unfortunately, there's no demo version available nor any screenshots nor videos. I didn't want to make this topic before I could show you anything about the game but there's been quite a bit of heat lately so I might as well show you I'm taking this project seriously.

Not so much as into the code then into the arts.. I could help sprite? (maybe?) I mainly wanna make movesets too, if you don't have them yet.

You might have to wait a bit before I finish it. If I could do Plasma Wisp first, if at all. (has little moves in the games, so it's harder, but i'm ok with it if you're ok.)

You can use some other moves from Spark Kirby from the other games or even base some moves around enemies of the same element.
Smash already did that with Zelda and Link and Palutena and Pit, so there's no problem with that here.

Ok. I actually used some elements from Kirby Air Ride? If it's ok, but I still need to find what the moves actually look like, but the wiki kinda gives me a good description idea, and I'll describe how I visualize it to you if needed.
Also I am having trouble with the u-tilt and u-smash, but have some good ideas for the specials.

Make U-Smash Thunderbolt from Return to Dream Land/or Spark+Needle from Kirby 64.
U-Tilt can be made up if you're having trouble.

Here we go, Plasma Wisp's moveset. Actually the first move set I've ever done, so don't criticize negatively pls :oops: .
Plasma wisp’s moveset!
Jab- Plasma Spray, Kirby Air Ride. A fast jab attack, dealing 1-2%, ending hit could shock and deal 4%
f-tilt- throws hand forward a bit. Higher knockback, about 7% damage.
Dash attack- throws a small charged hand. Has a longer range (80 pixels?)
u-tilt- sparks appear above PW’s head, damaging enemy.
d-tilt- small shock into the ground in front.
F-Smash- charges hand with sparks, then launches forward.
d-smash- hits the ground and makes sparks fly out near
U-smash- thunderbolt, goes upward instead of downwards.
Aerials
N-air: hard- emits a small range shock shield like object, similar to Sonic’s n-spec soft- punches out both sides with hands.
F-air: hard- swipes forward of himself with hands soft- fires the short ranged Plasma spark, does good damage but lower knockback
B-air: soft- fires a close range large hit box wave sort of hit, not a k.o. move at all. Hard-swings around and does a hard hit
U-air: hard- swings hand upwards, in an arc, so it hits upwards but forward upwards too. Soft-twirls with hand outstretched and hits for large knock back but small hitbox.
D-air: hard- Fires a longer range bolt to the ground, Coo’s plasma power. Soft- quickly jabs a shock dagger below him.
Specials & Final Smash
N-spec: releases however much charge that you have charged using the keys.
S-spec- basically his regular attack in SSU, charges a bit, then fires 3 low damage projectiles.
U-spec- shoots however much charge you have downwards, more charge, higher jump.
D-spec- Plasma meteor, Kirby Air Ride. Shoots three small meteors to three sides, below (if in air) and to both sides.
Final Smash- Stun Finale- emits small shock lines than stun then charges and releases 8 big orbs that hit all that are stunned.
Gotta use that taunt button right? But for now let’s just make all helpers’ taunts their moves when they are summoned by Kirby.
Grabs:
Pummel: touches the grabbed fighter and then fighter gets shocked.
U-throw: puts the fighter on its head, shocks repeated times.
B-throw: Don’t know yet
D-throw: Don’t know yet
F-throw: Don’t know yet
Air dodge: fades out and in (like from SS)

So Kirb-Star if you like this, I can do some more, but do you understand how hard it will be to do Bugzzy? :cry: just thinking about it. I will add the B, D, and F throws but I'd like some recommendations.

I like it, but maybe make it so the move leaves a Spark into the ground that stuns for 0.5/1 seconds to anyone who touches it. He can leave 3 sparks in the ground.

Better make the charging like Samus's Charge Shot, since Plasma/Spark is really overpowered since you only need to guard and mash the buttons.

Sounds okay by me, but if he has no charge then he just uses his teleporting move from the enemy Plasma Wisps.

Another projectile based attack sounds kinda repetitive. How about this:
Spark Attack: Basically Spark Kirby's main move. If using Soft Attack, the move will be a simple shine like Fox's except it doesn't reflect projectiles. If using Hard Attack he just uses the full move. Requires a cooldown of 3 seconds if you use the latter. At full charge he will use Super Electric Energy Field from Kirby 64 (albeit smaller and hitboxes aren't reliable). If used Soft Attack while fully charged he will just use the Shine while keeping the charge.

Kinda generic honestly. I think Cannon Blast (a kamehameha esque move) from Spark Robobot would be more fitting. Unlike Samus's FS the moves leaves multiple spark trails on the ground serving as traps.

Remember you can merge characters' moves with other similar abilities. (e.g Plasma Wisp having some attacks from Spark). Do this by mixing Suplex with Beetle from Triple Deluxe. He's also a wrestler, so feel free to give him some wrestling moves.
I actually had a moveset written for him already but I wanna hear yours anyways. It's fun to compare :chibirobo:
Also, an important recommendation: in the OP of this thread I left an important gameplay mechaninc for this game: Soft and Hard attacks, basically what Ryu in SSB4 uses to have two S-Tilts/U-Tilts, etc.
Feel free to post whatever moveset you like, I'll make sure to review it (and please don't double post, there's an edit button at the top of your message)
